UPDATE: We got another speaker! Join us this Saturday for an afternoon of evening of action and learn what we can do moving forward in response to the repealing of Roe V. Wade. Artist booths are still open for those who want to participate. $10 at the door. All proceeds will be donated to the national network of abortion funds.

Be at July 16! Art booths are from 3 pm speakers start at 5 pm, comedians and poets will go on at 6 pm, music starts at 8 pm. Proceeds go to the national network of abortion funds!

Join us July 16 for a night of music, art, poetry and community in protest of the miscarriage of justice that is repealing Roe v. Wade. We’ll have speakers from LEAD and JEN, among others. Milk Carton Press is happy to announce our social media team! Meet Julia and Cassie:

Julia Lagunes is a writer and multidisciplinary artist currently based in Prague, Czech Republic. A graduate of the BFA Writing Program at Pratt Institute, she created Mujeres sin Caras and was featured in Messy's Eternal Sleepover. She can often be found 1) cooking risotto, petting her neighbor's kitten, listening to true crime podcasts; 2) working out until everything burns; or 3) re-reading Kathy Acker's novels.

Cassie Birk is a University of Iowa grad with a degree in words. She has held positions on the editorial teams of earthwords literary review and The Conium Review. Cassie previously interned with Microcosm Publishing where she worked on nonfiction titles. Her own poetry is featured in Funny Looking Dog Quarterly, The Bitchin' Kitsch, Ethel Zine, streetcake, The Daily Drunk, and more. Corporally, she's in the PNW and probably smells like Italian food.
