While temperatures this weekend are above average, the wind will make it feel colder.

Clouds will slowly thin Friday night with lows staying warmer than Friday morning as we get down to around 20 degrees. Saturday will be a windy and slightly cooler day with highs in the low 30s with a northwest wind at 15 to 30 miles per hour. Much better warming arrives for the workweek.

Clouds will be increasing Thursday night as temperatures will be below average again with lows in the single digits. Friday will bring us mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of a few flurries in northern Siouxland with highs getting much warmer in the upper 30s to near 40.

We're looking for three Siouxland schools that are making a difference in their communities! Create a video 2 minutes or less showing us how your school is making a difference and submit it over on KTIV.com. The winning schools will receive a day at Arnold's Park as well as $1,000 donation from Farrell's Heating and Air Conditioning. Entries due by February 28th.

Light snow showers will move through Siouxland into Wednesday evening but then come to an end Wednesday night with lows down near 5 degrees. Thursday will be a little brighter than what we saw on Wednesday, but it will be much cooler with highs only near 20 degrees with a northwest wind at 10 to 20 miles per hour.

Where did you sleep last night? This week the annual Point In Time count is happening. Organizations across the nation are counting the homeless population and whether they are sheltered vs unsheltered and in encampments. More details on what this means for federal funding for programs like Neighborhood Services here in Siouxland tonight on KTIV News 4 at Six.

Missouri Valley Conference basketball continues tonight on Me-TV Siouxland. Murray State vs. Southern Illinois. Tonight at 6pm on Me-TV Siouxland KTIV 4.3.

On the next "Hometown History" KTIV's Larry Wentz takes a closer look at a Sioux City photographer who captured key moments in the city's history. Today on News 4 at Noon.

While it won't be nearly as cold Tuesday night as what we've been seeing, we will see increasing clouds and a chance of some light snow with lows in the mid to upper teens. Highs on Wednesday will be warmer in the low to mid 30s with a chance of some light snow. Total accumulation will be from a dusting up to an inch across the region.

Dangerously cold wind chills will continue into Tuesday morning as an Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for most of Siouxland until noon Tuesday. Expect lows in the mid teens below zero and wind chills to get as cold as -35 degrees despite the wind settling down tonight. Tuesday will slowly warm up with afternoon highs reaching the upper teens and lower 20s with increasing clouds and a south wind gusting to around 30 miles per hour.
