Ellie Irving is a senior Graphic Design student from Nashville, TN. She enjoys the intersection of creative writing and editorial design and is the lead designer of JBU’s literary journal. Ellie has classical training in ballet and a true affinity for the arts. She loves the topics of biblical church leadership and theology and thrives in coffee shops with sunny windows where she can lose herself in a branding job or a study on Anglican tradition. Ellie can’t wait to start her final year with Shards of Light and compile the next journal.

Elijah Patterson is a senior Creative Writing major who, as you might expect, loves writing. He’s enjoyed every moment of working with the Shards of Light team, helping others get recognized for their works and encouraging others to write boldly and intentionally. When he’s not enduring the load of school and work, you can find him writing a poem, mixing a song, practicing piano, drinking too much coffee, eating Big Macs, and hanging out with his family. Elijah is excited to start his second (and last) year of working with Shards of Light.
