How about my granddaughters? Are they not amazing?
We are getting tons of rain right now. Usually Gunny is the one doing more of the homesteading outside.
Unfortunately, his parents are having some issues. His step dad ended up having emergency surgery and has a little stay in the hospital.
They live a little over two hours from us. We usually have to go out there once or twice a week but now with this Gunny will have to stay out there.
that means all the homesteading chores fall on me, I still navigate caring for my mom who broke her hip and my dad with Alzheimer’s.
We’re actually contemplating pulling up stakes and moving closer to his parents . It is tough finding property we like with acreage, though.
lots of things throwing wrenches in our quiet retirement life 😂.
we remain blessed and grateful to be able to help care for our parents. This is where the rubber meets the road really. I can’t say it’s all roses but it’s still pretty damn good. Life is messy, I understand this more than most and I always look for the gifts I have received. God has been good to us and I can’t do anything without him. This has been my saving grace and my rock.
here’s to all the homesteaders doing those chores in the rain. I think I have to say the snow was way worse.

🌍✨ Feeling incredibly blessed this morning as I reflect on our amazing travels around the world. A special memory popped up from our time in Romania, reminding me of the incredible experiences we’ve had. This was a little village, where the mode transportation was still a cart and horse. Now, we’ve transitioned into a new chapter, caring for our elderly parents. Despite the challenges, we remain grateful and blessed. ❤️ #Blessed #TravelMemories #Romania #NewChapter #Gratitude #thegunnyandthegrandma #thegunnyswife #homesteadlife
“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” - Eckhart Tolle
I find after experiencing so much loss in my life, but always reminding myself of how blessed I am is the foundation I choose to build on. Understanding each one of my blessings and showing gratitude that’s what I want to fill my world with.
Life has changed drastically for us recently. Especially with our caring for aging parents.
Our life of full time travel is not to be. Yet we have experienced so much of the world it’s hard to feel regret. We have travelled all over the states as well as the world and now we have come into a different season.
Bloom where you are ❤️🌸💐🌺🌹🌷🌻🌼🥀
We have so many blessings in our life we just need to look for them.
