Stand on Biblical principles! Don’t make tradition your idol!
Religious leaders already tried that. They tried to force the gentiles into Jewish traditions and what they observe “in order to be saved.”
Let’s look at how Peter addressed that….

“Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses.” After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.””

CONTEXT: this is not talking about conforming to the world and what the world looks like. It was but about the awareness of the shift in culture. In the New Testament, Paul addressed many different churches specific to the issues that existed in THAT church and wrote to them with an understanding of their culture! He NEVER had to compromise the message of the cross, Christ crucified! Awareness does not equal compromise. Awareness is a tool that can be used to reach many ….it’s the text!…

“Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. -Align your faith and your actions! You want to be considered a friend of God’s(relationship)? Put in the work to align your actions with your faith! Your works don’t save you, your faith does that, but your fruit is evidence of your faith.
-Works without faith is merely exalting yourself, you get the glory.
-Faith without works is useless. Your fruit has seed and when you keep it all to yourself, you’re not stewarding what God has given you and multiplying. Don’t hoard you “talents.” (Matthew 25:14-30)

“You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone. As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.”

-Now God has given us grace. We can’t be righteous without Him AND “saved by grace through faith,” doesn’t mean stay where you are.

The church did not move with the culture
