Local all-star team stacked with high aspirations and several gifted athletes
Many of the areas premier high school football players are brought together on a single 7V7 team showcasing some exceptional athleticism.
This past weekend, the Heru 18U 7V7 team successfully captured another tournament championship. This trophy came via the Jambalaya Jam in Shreveport. (They also recently claimed 1st in Vicksburg, Mississippi)
The team seems invincible on paper. Their on-field performance is even more exceptional. The offense boasts a plethora of recognizable names that inspire trepidation in defensive coordinators around our area:
Quarterback Peyton “Pop” Houston from Evangel has several D1 targets to choose from, and it’s really REALLY fun to watch. Jamarcea Plater from Captain Shreve, Kenny “D1 Kenny” Darby from Airline, Antonio Gladney from Parkway, Demarkus Evans from Evangel — all studs — and that’s not all. The offense also has the extremely talented Dezyrian “1 of 1” Ellis and Malique Credit — both from Franklin Parish — and both nearly impossible to guard. Same goes for Waskom’s Nate Espy.
This offense is ridiculous and they’re looking to showcase their skills on the national level. The guys are aiming for an OT7 invite. OT7 is a content-first football league that spotlights some of the best high school football players in the country. It’s national televised, and it can create a five star athlete overnight.
The complete Heru 7V7 Roster is listed below. So far we’ve only mentioned 8 guys, but know that this team is loaded far beyond that. We look forward to seeing how far this group of talented athletes can go, we’re guessing all the way to the top. Good luck guys! Y’all have fun!
ADRIAN JOHNSON — HUNTINGTON
ANTONIO GLADNEY — PARKWAY
ARTHUR DOUGLAS — SOUTHWOOD
AVERY JOHNSON — FRANKLIN PARISH
BRANDON MAYS — CAPTAIN SHREVE
BRAYLON DELTON — NORTH DESOTO
