Shirley Media- Shirley Public Access Television Shirley Media - the best in local, national and international programming for our community. People have a desire to stay in contact with their home community.

Today community television is about much more than cable casting your towns access stations. It's about communicating with the entire community including audiences that don't subscribe to cable, or no longer live locally. This page exists to engage all members of our community, including those away from Shirley; in surrounding communities, Arizona, Florida or wherever they have moved. We try to help them do this.

The documentary shows from Deutsche Welle, a German-based PBS-style company, are renewed every Tuesday when we update the stations' scheduling. We feature them on Channel 8. Check the schedule for times and days.

We are currently airing: Focus On Europe, Euro Max, In Good Shape, Global US, Tomorrow Today, and Shift.

Deutsche Welle is an international news organization on lines of our PBS. It makes some interesting documentary news programs. Years ago we carried some of their shows, but changes in how they distributed them made it difficult for us to download. they've changed distribution and we are once again showing some of their shows.
Between 6:30 and 8 PM on channel 8, we will be showing three of their features: EruoMax, Global US, and Conflict Zone.

On Monday and Tuesday, July 1st and 2nd, we'll be rebuilding the access TV station. As you know, the aging equipment has been full of problems for several months.
The new equipment has arrived, and we'll be totally rebuilding.
During those two days, there may be some service interruptions.
This is a reminder that the free VOD service will not be interrupted. It operates separately on the web. Just go to shirleytv.org and click on the VOD tab. You do not have to be a Comast subscriber to use the VOD.

We are waiting for the parts needed to rebuild the station. Until then, our aging video server has been cranky and sometimes arbitrary about what it chooses to do or not do. Right now, it's refusing to play Monday's Select Board Meeting.
Luckily, you can watch it on our free Video On Demand. Just go to our website, shirleytv.org. Click on the VOD tab, and it will allow you to watch all the current meetings. You don't have to be a Comcast subscriber to use the VOD.

We should have a new server and other equipment by the middle of July.
