Quick update on orders.

We’re still working to get back on track from the holidays. Despite having a Christmas cutoff in October for radio straps and November cutoff for smaller items, the 2-3 weeks prior to Christmas we were slammed with an abundance of last minute orders.

Within the next week we should be getting back on track fully with our normal lead times. We apologize if your order is slightly delayed with shipping out. We’re working hard to get it to you while working around a firehouse and family schedule. We will not sacrifice quality for speed.

May have missed a hole when threading the needle but let’s blame that on the fact that I’m a rookie at sewing… After a couple years of dreaming to have one, we finally have a leather sewing machine in our arsenal of tools.

Moving through making some of our smaller items. Our mask clips can be customized with text on both sides of the leather pull tab then painted with one of our 140+ paint options.

The paint room has been nonstop busy these past few weeks! Radio straps and helmet shields have been making their way to the finish line

Last week there was a lot of hustle in the shop with multiple projects getting completed. Several batches of smaller items were handcrafted and shipped as well as a batch of 22 radio straps. The next batch of radio straps with orders from 3/5-3/16 is starting production and we’re wrapping up with orders from 2/20-3/4. It’s looking to be another busy week ahead. Thank you all for the continued support!

Our Story

Salt City Leatherworks was established in Syracuse, NY in February of 2018. What started as a hobby in 2017, owner Kyle Halm quickly found a knack for making 100% handmade leather helmet fronts. Coming from a deeply rooted fire service background, Kyle took his hobby to the next level wanting to provide completely custom shields for fellow firefighters at a very affordable rate.

All products produced by Salt City Leatherworks are handmade by a firemen for firemen. We pride ourselves with creating high quality products, made from the toughest leathers on the market, built to last.
