Lake Livingston Dam under failure watch
Special to PCPC
The Trinity River Authority is confirming that the spillway of the Lake Livingston Dam and spillway have been adversely impacted by the recent heavy rainfall and flooding in the dam’s drainage area, resulting in the declaration of a “potential failure watch” condition which requires continued monitoring and evaluation of the spillway’s integrity, as well as the implementation of necessary repairs and remedial actions.
Although there is no immediate danger of either failure or breach of the dam, the potential does exist however remote it might be.
The day-to-day operation of the dam will continue as necessary, although normal gate operations may vary as conditions dictate.
This declaration is in conformance with the Emergency Action Plan as approved by the TRA, which will monitor the spillway’s status and will issue updates as necessary.
For additional information please contact Trinity River Authority at (877) 352-3247.

Poetry n’ pickin’ perfectly describes one of editors, Chris Edwards 🎶 Is he moonlighting newspaper or music? 🤔

PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT 🌟 Chris Edwards performing live on July 6th from Black Creek Rising: A Grassroots Music Fest from 10a - The Last Song!

RSVP HERE: https://www.facebook.com/share/Pn73DhnFEQ1Jd5om/ -- BYOB, Chairs, and Canopies! $10 at the gate (+ $10 for drink coolers)

Poetry n’ pickin’ are Chris Edwards’ calling cards. The Pineywoods-based singer/songwriter is back to ply his trade after a long hiatus from music.

Whether it’s solo with just his guitar, voice, and songs, paired alongside a friend or two swapping songs, or with a loud n’ proud full band behind him, Edwards is a compelling favorite among live music lovers.

With the old-timey country song “Moonshine Habit” gaining traction in markets where people play actual country music and the new album Homebrew showcasing his songwriting acumen, Chris Edwards is making up for lost time and putting his mark upon Texas music.
