Need a new roof?? This is a great program. I can attest that it works! It is not a scam.

And now with the new registration process it should be easier to get in. Before you would have to wait until after midnight and spend hours on the computer trying to get in. Hopefully this new process will make it smoother.
Mobile County-July 1st at 9 am
Baldwin County-July 3rd at 9 am

The grant offers $10,000 towards a new fortified roof. Keep in mind based on the square footage of your home you may pay a little out-of-pocket for your roof, but it is much cheaper than doing it without the grant.

You need to make sure that you are current with your wind coverage on your homeowners insurance and have it ready with the application.

There is a $500 inspection fee, $100 is due upfront for the inspector to make sure the home qualifies for the new roof. Once the roof is installed and completed, the inspector will come back out to check the work and at that point, you will pay the remainder of the $400 for the fortification certificate to give to your insurance company. With that said your insurance should go down which therefore would reduce your mortgage payment.
