Such a tragic day in the city of Selma. A Selma PD officer was shot and killed in the line of duty, protecting one of our neighborhoods. Prayers go out to his family, friends, and the entire Selma police department during this difficult time. This is a time for our city to come together to not only mourn the loss of our officer but honor his life and sacrifice.

On Sunday, Centro de Folklor organized a beautiful Dia de los Mu***os celebration! Day of the Dead is a joyful time that helps people remember the deceased and celebrate their memory. I look forward to seeing this free community event grow and become tradition in Selma ❤️

Last weekend we had a candidate debate in the park! No microphones, we didn’t get questions ahead of time, and we took questions from the public. On city council I will conduct more of these town hall events to share information and ensure accountability for our council decisions.

Seated next to me is Councilmember Sarah Guerra, since my opponent didn’t show.

This afternoon Mayor Robertson and I walked District 2 to hear from our neighbors. In my experience in working at a non-profit, it’s important to meet people where they are at and create space to listen. These porch conversations are important in improving the quality of life for our community!

The community came out to support the mural at the Boys and Girls club! 🎨 The 559 Mural Project and Artist Niki Jiménez worked hard to organize this silent auction with many donated prizes. With a mini performance from Centro de Folklor 🤠
I love to see community members and organizations come together to beautify our town!

Tejano music lovers from Bakersfield, Tulare, San Jose, and all over the valley come to our town to enjoy this night out at Pioneer Village. Come out on October 15th to see what the hype is about! I had a great time at the Conversations with Candidates Mini Pop-up event. Local businesses owners are the backbone of our community and I love their entrepreneurial spirit. You may have seen many of these businesses at Plaza & Co., who organizes events to support our local vendors. Thanks for the invite Robertson-Guerra Insurance Agency and Jasmine Plaza.

I feel it’s time to put people before politics! The infighting and instability at city hall are hindering growth and affecting our quality of life. Economic development should be the city’s top priority; we need to reassess how we attract new business, Selma's marketability, provide resources for already existing businesses to thrive, and redevelop Downtown.

I’m a member of the Selma Arts Council, and other cultural and artistic initiatives in our community. I’ve worked with non-profits to promote events such as The Tejano & Country Music Bash for Second Chance Animal Shelter, BizFit’s Farmers Market, and the Boys and Girls Club. Events like these are important to building a united and stronger
