*"WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS WAEC OR MINISTRY WILL GET* *IF THOSE AFFECTED STUDENTS ARE NOT OPPORTUNE TO SIT THE EXAMS?"- OPPOSITION CHIEF WHIP*

It's no longer a secret that there are good number of students that West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), and Ministry of Basic and Secondary School Education have disqualified from taking the pending WASSCE as they claimed their heads of school failed to upload their CASS.

In the early hours of today, Opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara visited Liberty online Tv where he robustly stated that whether the affected students are 150,000 or 30,000 that should not be the bone of contention but rather to ask if those affected students are not Sierra Leoneans for them to be deprived from taking the forthcoming WASSCE.

Also, Opposition Chief Whip unavoidably interrogated the government based on their attempt to disqualify hardworking students that have been preparing for the exams; why is it that private schools are not giving the opportunity to pay for their students? What are the benefit WAEC or the ministry will get if those candidates are not opportune to sit the exams? Is it that the government do not have the usual resources to pay for the students?

Again, he outrightly stated that 30% CASS should not be a priority for candidates to determine their fate as there is proclivity for them to pass the exams with flying colors without CASS. He maintained that those students should be allowed to take their exams as it's part of their fundamental human rights.

He also said that the ministry together with WAEC did not allocate ample time to educate heads of school on the CASS issue as that is one of the prevailing factors that has affected most of the schools.

He therefore, continues to call on the President to put premium on the issue as those institutions that are responsible to augment his efforts in the area of educating the nation are the very blood that are clandestinely undermining the process.

He emphasized that If prompt actions are not taking to revert the decision of the Ministry as well as WAEC the country is heading to its doom because the progress of any nation lies on the hands of the young generation.

*" IF GOVERNMENT FAILS TO HONOUR* *THE CRIES OF THE POOR STUDENTS, COURT WILL BE THE ALTERNATIVE"- OPPOSITION CHIEF WHIP* !

Many are with perspective that for Sierra Leone to be at the backdoor of quality education, West Africa Examination Council and Ministry of Basic and Secondary School are among the factors that responsible for such uncanny situation in the country as there are ocular proofs for justification.

It's obvious that Since opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara brought the issue of some students that have been deprived from taking the forthcoming WASSCE in the limelight, it has become a topical issue as almost all walks of life are keen on the issue to know whether there will be a remedy or not.

Few days ago, Parliament through Education Committee invited the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and Ministry of Basic and Secondary School Education (MBSSE) to face questioning in relation to the issue has to deal with thousands of students that have been omitted from the register to sit the forthcoming WASSCE.

During the examinations, representatives from aforesaid institutions succinctly narrated their own part of the story, especially the CASS issue as one of set alternatives for the exams. Irrespective of their plethora explanations majority have viewed it as if the Education Committee is just throwing water on duck back as the two institutions have came to acquiescence to deprive the poor parents as well as students.

However, Opposition Chief continues to express his dissatisfaction over the submissions of WAEC and the Ministry as they are yet to provide resolutions that would enabling the deprived students to partake on the exams. " *We have been in this fight for the past weeks but it's seem WAEC and Ministry is looking for delay tactics* ".

" If government fails to listen to the cries of the parents and the students, within 72 hrs I will sue them to court". He made this known to the general public that if those institutions reluctantly denied the future of those students he will utilize the country as the only alternative to prevail justice for the affected students.

He emphatically stated that 30% CASS should not be a priority for candidates to determine their fate as there is tendency for them to pass the exams with flying colors without CASS. He maintained that with all indicators those students should be incorporated in the register to write the exams.

He further to say that he is not doing this to score political goal but to ensure that issue of impunity in some of those institutions come to a halt as it's has become a norm to them.

He therefore, continues to call on the President to remove his lense and keen on the issue as those institutions that are responsible to augment his efforts are the very blood that are clandestinely undermining the process.

" *IF THE ACC CANNOT TRUST THE JUDICIARY, WHO AM I TO TRUST THE JUDICIARY?"- OPPOSITION CHIEF WHIP!*

As the fight against corruption stands, many are with the views that since President Maada Bio took up governance they have seen ever to be forgotten corruption scandals. In fact corruption has become more fashionable since time immemorial. Those who are supposed to hunt corruption have become hunted.

Few days ago, the ACC Commissioner disclosed billions of leones he has recovered which has become much- talk about issue in the country.

Against that back drop, the Opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara unavoidably made his stance clear during the parliamentary sitting in connection with the money being recovered by the ACC together with the some of the statements made by the Commissioner during the press briefing.

He started by commending the ACC Commissioner for recovered a huge amount from fraudsters which is a steping stone to mitigate corruption in the country.

However, he was very perplexed over some of the statements of the ACC Commissioner, especially when he mentioned that he didn't trust the judiciary: " The reason why I am enforcing the collection of stolen money is because the judiciary has not helped the ACC in recovering state looted funds".

Opposition chief whip made it clear that when those who are occupying state institutions should also understand the statements coming from them because either their statements to make or unmake the society.

According to him, the statement of the ACC Commissioner has the propensity to to deter the integrity and uprightness of of the judiciary.

" If the ACC cannot trust the Judiciary, who am I to trust the judiciary?". Opposition Chief Whip made this statement in relation to what the Commissioner said about the judiciary system of the country.

*PARAN TARAWALLY PARALYZES THE COUNTRY'S ECONOMY!*

Even though, ACC has made it clear that the accused returned some of the embezzlement funds but that doesn't enough considering the nature of the crime.

In countries where they are serious to fight again this cankerworm by now Paran Tarawally and his accomplice should have been placed behind bars for knowing and doing. But for Sierra Leone the government is toying with the issue as if it is lawful as the alleged still occupies his position, moving freely without any harassments. What a state with jokers!

What is more astonishing, the clerk of parliament is the man who was so vociferous in the well, especially when the opposition MPs had a confrontation with the rulling class that led to the destruction of properties. He was allover the media demanded that those alleged MPs who disrupted the proceedings must face the wrath of their actions for disorderly behavior which later resulted to the seizing of their salaries, suspension and the like.

The clerk of parliament pretending to the people that he loved this country and he is a well discipline figure not knowing that he is one of the enemies of the state.

The citizens are still battling with their basic needs whilst these rogues were busy squandering public funds. Does that mean they are more blessed than those you have punished, especially the opposition members as a result of corruption?

Imagine what they have defalcated if it should have been used to subsidize for university students, provide safe drinking water, improve on the health system, by now the country would have moved forward in the area of development.

This administration seems to be full of 'Ayampis' as they have decided to let the masses perish whilst they are living luxurious lives.

Without any hesitation, Paran Tarawally and his cupboard lover should be placed under the mango tree/ capital clock tower as the ACC had done it to the poor teachers who they were accused of examination malpractices. Paran Tarawally and his glutton wife deserved nothing like public disgrace to the latter!

This is another battle would either rebrand Anti-Corruption Commission status or wane its credibility completely.

The citizens are therefore continuously demanding that, Paran Tarawally should step aside whilst the investigation is ongoing or else they will demonstrate against the commissioner.

*" I DO NOT TRUST THE JUDICIARY IN HANDLING FORMER PRESIDENT KOROMA'S ISSUE"- OPPOSITION CHIEF WHIP!*

In the early hours of today, Opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara appeared on Radio Democracy 98.1 to discuss on the way forward for the peace and stability of the country.

During his presentation, the gentleman made it known that democratic credential of a country itself is a whole platform, marketing strategy for investors. Because there is no investor in the globe that would invest in any nation that is politically unstable.

Opposition Chief Whip drew the attention of the citizens to the current issue in parliament as the clerk of parliament unlawfully sacked over 100 staff and among them only four ( 4) out of the figure that were from the South-East which is tantamount to cause mayhems in the country.

" Peace is not an absent of war..." According to him, peace has to deal with structural issues and in a situation wherein certain people feel deprived, marginalized it's impossible for the country to be described as a peaceful nation, especially wherein the President always labelled the opposition members as terrorists.

He also illuminated on the stance of the All People's Congress in the aspect of peace in the country and he succinctly educated the audience that the party has done enough and it would continue to live up to expectations in order to maintain peace and tranquility in the country .

In brief, he vehemently disclosed that he did not trust the judiciary system in handling former President Ernest Bai Koroma's issue on 26th November saga as the President Maada Bio has predicted inundated occasions what he would do to the former President and which has been manifested. It's based on that made him to be convinced that justice would be tampered.

He therefore made a clarion call to all patriots, especially APC supporters, sympathizer to continue to be law abiding.

*" I AM NOT* *HERE TO DEFEND PARLIAMENT WHEN IT IS NOT DEFENDABLE"- OPPOSITION CHIEF WHIP* !

On the 28th January 2024, the Opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara was on Radio Democracy 98.1 to be interviewed about the 2022 Audit Report and other inter-related issues in parliament.

Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara made it crystal clear that the audit report is not a document that is going against political parties as many citizens are yet with the misconception. He noted that except the people being employed are political party members and in that regard the political party should be blamed for the skirmishes. But Civil Servants are not meant to be politicians and therefore, the people should disassociate the audit service from a political lineage. He categorically discoursed that if that is impossible, Sierra Leone would continue to be a state that harvests corruption; a state where corruption determines any other things in the society.

In addition, Opposition Chief Whip illuminated on some of the deblitating issues that are impeding the health sector in the country.Based on his views, there are many hospitals/clinics that do not have ambulances, inadequate drugs, and poor welfare of staff irrespective of the resources being allocated to the sector yet nothing good has been done to live up to expectations which is as well tantamount to mockery considering the predicament the people are enduring.

Furthermore, Opposition Chief Whip equally lamented on the education sector as almost all the schools in the country are not in good condition. Corruption has made the poor to fine it very difficult to be educated as the system has become another enterprise in the country. This as well applicable to other sectors; water sector, electricity and transportation.

Above all, he mentioned that the current situation has nothing to do with Politicians but for those who are responsible to implement government resources for it purpose that are not ready to do the needful.

*" I am not here to defend parliament when it is not defendable* ", Opposition Chief made this statement in connection with the current happenings in the well which have gotten much attention from the public and he wasn't in any capacity to defend it. He also mentioned that the audit report did not need any motion based on section 1195 of the 1991 constitution as it spelt out all the efficacies.

Also, Opposition Chief Whip drew the attention of the audience that the procedure the Parliamentary Accounts Committee is using at the moment is wrong and the Speaker should allowed them to debate the audit report thereafter, they would send it to the committee for investigation. In noting this statement, he justified that If the speaker did not allow the report to be debated, then they are protecting corruption.

Conclusively, he therefore, made a clarion call to the President as well as the speaker in order for them to be given the leverage as opposition members to monitor the Parliamentary Accounts Committee as it is applicable in Ghana and other Common Wealth countries.

*THE OPPOSITION CHIEF WHIP CALLS ON THE PRESIDENT TO READ THE AUDIT REPORT* !

It's evident that corruption has become more fashionable under the administration of President Maada Bio. Although, he initially promised the citizens that he would wage war against corruption and anyone who attempted to engaging such the individual would be dealt with according to laws of the land.

Sierra Leoneans were very much enthusiastic over the proclamation thinking that the menace would be mitigated, especially when they were hunting the opposition members alleged them to misuse public funds. Not knowing that the war is meant for those who are not within the circle.

Few months down the line, those who champion the war later became perpetrators. They have indeed shattered the optimism of the people as almost all the institutions have cordially become babysitters of corruption.

To ascertain that, the recent Audit Report speaks volume as the document clearly stated how public resources were embezzled by cloak of individuals at the expense of the majority.

According to the laws of the land, every audit report it is supposed to be debated in parliament as that would help to bring those rogues to book but what is currently unfolding with the report it's seem as if the report will be placed under the green carpet.

Opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara has been calling on the Speaker to allow the audit report to be tabled in the well.

As a gentleman who stands to speak truth to power has become sceptical about the silence of the President as corruption has taken the centre stage in the country.

According to him, the audit report is not an exception as it would help the President to know exactly what is going with his administration yet no where to be seen.

*" OUR PRESIDENT DOES NOT READ THE AUDIT REPORT"- OPPOSITION CHIEF WHIP!*

On the 3rd February 2024, the Students' Representative Council (SRC) at the University of Makeni (Unimak) organized its inauguration ceremony, presentation of academic excellence and social awards.The event took place at the university auditorium wherein almost all walks of life witnessed the ceremony.

Opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara happened to be one of the guests of honour to grace the ceremony.

During his key note address, he inevitably stated that they are living in a country where the minority are enjoying at the expense of the majority. He drew the attention of the audience to one of unforseen situations whereas the Presidential Lodge does not have water on it own except with the help of water bouncers and this is an unlimited situation as it's also applicable to Vice President's Lodge and Parliament. In noting this, he stated that if those prestigious places are yet struggling to secure safe drinking water, what about the ordinary citizens who do not have such alternatives?

He went on to say that even though, the government is bragging about Free Quality Education but non of their children attending any government learning institutions. Based on his views, that has clearly indicated that the proposed quality is only meant for the poor.

As the Audit Report has been published, the citizens have seen the mismanagement of funds, abuse of offices, the Opposition Chief Whip unavoidably lamented on the report. According to him, the audit report seems to be meaningless as those who were supposed to welcome it with sincerity and implement its recommendations are no where to be seen.

*" Our President do not read the Audit Report",* this statement came as a result of the absolute silence of the President considering his role as he initially promised to mitigate corruption as the report entails all the requirements to enforce accountability and transparency.

He maintained that they are living in a society where everything has been politicized; a society everyone is searching for who to blame. He emphasized that this has paved the way for many politicians to deliberately impose untold suffering in the land.

" *Is this the nation that we are so proud of to call a home* ?" The gentleman made this statement in connection with the present predicament the citizens are enduring as 90% of the population if only they have second chance to choose their place of birth non of them would consider Sierra Leone.
According to him, it is not their fault but it's due to ineptitude of the government to address the needs of the people.

He equally noted that it would be very difficult for the country to progress exponentially because the central focus of the government is to suppress the people rather than put premium on their basic needs.

He also illuminated on the youth in leadership as he explicitly briefed the audience that he is very much optimistic that the next President of the nation his or her cabinet would be full of young people which is good but the country is anticipating for young people with positive mindsets. To achieve that, he said young people should try to welcome three dimensions of change; Cognitive, Attitude and Behavior.

He therefore, admonished the students that in order for Sierra Leone to compete with other nations when it's come to development collective efforts is essential at this level.

*" IT IS A REGIME SIERRA LEONEANS WOULD EVER REGRET TO REMEMBER"- OPPOSITION CHIEF WHIP!*

It is evident that since President Maada Bio took up governance development has become stagnated. Majority are with the views that the only things that are visible; Political intimidation, unlawful killings, arbitrary arrests, starvation, inflation and corruption.

During the 2023 general elections, he vehemently promised the citizens that there would be enough food on the table and poverty would take it permanent exit door. These statements on the other hand trapped many citizens to be convinced that their lives would be improved exponentially not knowing that it is a mere grandiloquence. In fact the administration has added more values to the sufferings of the masses with impunity.

Immediately after the Electoral Commissioner, Mohammed Konneh announced President Maada Bio as the winner things started falling apart. A winning that garnered enough controversies as the elections lacked transparency as being said by the election observers i.e National Electoral Watch, Carter Centre etc.

On that view, the Opposition Chief, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara continues to illuminate on the burning issues the people are enduring. According to him, there are no tangible developments the current administration has implemented that helped to augment the livelihoods of the citizens.

He narrated that the country's economy is in a precarious stage as many citizens are not able to secure their daily bread due to the deliberately effort of the government to remove subsidies on basic commodities. He sensed that the citizens are now surviving like magicians without any optimism for the future.

Opposition Chief Whip discussed the education sector as the President promised to provide Free Quality Education for all children yet nothing good to write home about it as those who engineered it non of their children attending any government learning institutions. Poor service for the teachers irrespective of the promises the government made about their welfare. As for him it has been justified that the government has cheated on the citizens with impunity.

He went on to narrate that one of the biggest failures of the administration is in the health sector. Based on his analysis it is prevalent that most of the government hospitals/ clinics aren't well equiped. Many are operating with substandard drugs, inadequate beddings and poor welfare of staff. And many communities are existing without health centers which is a recipe for untimely deaths.

He disclosed that there would be more sufferings in the country as the government is ineptitude to provide the basic needs of the people.

As it is stand, Kush has become one of the trending drugs that is presently destroying the lives of young people in the country. Every now and then the country is recording new cases of deaths related to Kush and as well as new intake. Many have become vagabond, thieves and exposed to enormous infections

One of the biggest issues that is disturbing the progress of the country is that majority Sierra Leoneans could only discuss matters that are new on the table immediately after some days they shed deaf ears on them and this is exactly what's happening with the fight against kush in the country.

Few months ago, the citizens witnessed numerous campaigns against the harmful drug from almost all walks of life just after that nothing like campaigns, awareness raising as if the youths have been exonerated themselves from imbibing the drug.

Many are with views that the government is paying lip service to it because they have all what it is take to stop the importation of the substance but their actions are invisible. Based on that the citizens are yet with some unanswerable questions in relation to the drug; does it mean that the government is aware of those who are importing the drug in the country? Do they overwhelmed over the rapid intake of the drug by the youths as that would help them to silence the youths not to be concentrated on them? Are they getting revenue from the substance?

The Opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara continues to advocate for the gullible youths whose future have been mortgage by cloak of individual for their personal vendetta.

The opposition chief is saddened by the current unfolding as those who were responsible, especially the government to safeguard the lives of the people have become toothless bulldog. He maintained that the present generation has become intoxicated with harmful substances that has paved the way for them to lose focus.

Opposition Chief Whip refered the quietude as a deliberate act from the political class as they were expected to stand stall against the substance as it is now claiming precious lives indiscriminately.

"IS IT THAT THE GOVERNMENT COLLUDES WITH THE CHINESE TO EXPLOIT THE PEOPLE?"- OPPOSITION CHIEF WHIP!

On the 19th February 2024, Opposition Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara visited Epic Radio (FM 99.3) to be interviewed on issues of national interest.

Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara briefed the audience that if President Maada Bio decided to go by the analysis being made by his cabinet Ministers about the tollgate increment it would be detrimental to the nation as those analysis are vague.

In addition, Opposition Chief Whip succinctly illuminated on the previous and current budgets the government has presented to the citizens as they always proclaimed to address the economical issues of the people in which is the inverse.

According to him, the unfortunate part of it all is that the government is projecting that three years from now, the U$ dollar will shoot up to NLe,3,100. He maintained that the government is pretending as if they didn't understand that dollar is the center for Africa economy. He vehemently noted that there is no proclivity for deflation and the government has accepted the fact that they cannot address the welfare of the people.

Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara stated that the government is comfortable making lives worst for the citizens through the unimaginable inflation in the country without any effort on the increment of salaries, poor minimum wage, no investment and the like.

Also, Hon. Member unavoidably analysed the proposed increment on tollgate which has become another topical issue in the country. Based on his views, the increment is untimely as the government did not follow the due process to make such disgusting move for the country. As he rightly said if the increment is going to be implemented as they proposed it would have a pervasive effects on the citizens as the country's economy is in a precarious stage.

He further to say now the tollgate fee is at it normalcy yet commodities have gone up. What would happen when there would be an increment? He noted that the ordinary citizens are going to bear the blunt of it all considering how a bag of rice, and other condiments would appear in the market.

*" Is it that the government colludes with the chinese to exploit the people?",* he made this statement in relation to the actions of the government as they are preparing to add more burden on the citizens.

Moreover, he narrated that he has consulted almost half of the MPs both from the rulling and opposition class but non of them provided a single justification for the increments. He emphasized that they as Opposition Mps would do their best to stand for the people yet the onus is lies on the government as they are capable of forcing bills in the well to be enacted.

Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara therefore, pleads to the President to use this singular opportunity to save the lives of the nation that are enduring undue pains.

As the current situation stands in Africa many believe that it would be very cumbersome for the continent to meet its needs. This ranging from power struggle, democracy, human rights violation, corruption, climate change and poor standard of living. Many believe that all those atrocities are prevalent due to poor leadership, especially organizations that are responsible to curb those menaces like Economy Community Of West States (ECOWAS) and Africa Union (AU) have become toothless bulldog considering the current happenings in the West Africa countries.

However, the Chief Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara (Hon.AKK) has shared similar thoughts on the ongoing political stalemate on the Africa continent, Sierra Leone as a case study. In that aspect, Hon. AKK has raised eyebrows on the side issues as his political figures have been always manhandled by the current administration without any relevance justification.

He also noted tha the energy Africa Leaders are utilizing to silencing the Opposition Party Members if that could have been invested in Africa's economy nothing but green economy.

He furthered that in Africa, the best way to keep your gullible supporters happy while they are suffering is to keep arresting opposition leaders and blame them for the economic hardship in the land which is tantamount to mockery.

Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara succinctly made it crystal as clear that continent would continue to be at the back doors of development as far as the leaders are yet to embrace the tenets of democracy, fight against corruption, good governance and respect for human rights.
