Hello! Recreational Psychoacoustics Lab just hit a year of existence. We've had hundreds of artists create, record, be loud, be quiet, be silent, and be present together. Some have made videos, many have recorded songs and inventions, many have taught lessons and directed practice. We've had field trips and therapy sessions, so many, many cups of coffee, and people from all over the US and world at large grace the space.
Nurturing a place for community to gather and be fearless in their art has always been a focus in my life. Redirecting such a beautiful and historically significant space has been a great honor. So many people have offered their support and we finally have a way to direct it effectively.
We've teamed up with Northwest Film Forum as our fiscal sponsor. This means we can accept tax-deductible donations to continue our efforts in creating sound and community for people of all ages and backgrounds.
There are so many places that resources can go right now, and so many people are struggling. Cost of operations have been kept as slim as possible, and we need help in order to continue and grow together. The goal has always been to help support and fulfill the social, environmental, and technical needs of musicians and artists, and it will take community support.
