🌟 **Join Us in Building the Skyway Artisan Village!** 🌟

Hey Skyway community! We’re excited to share a unique opportunity to be a part of something truly special. Moon Village Bakery is partnering with local visionaries to create a tiny Artisan Village right here in Skyway, and we need your help to bring it to life!

🌿 **What We’re Building:**
We’re turning a piece of land into a creative haven, where artists and entrepreneurs can rent a 240-square-foot space for just $500/month. These spaces are perfect for anyone passionate about the arts and looking to operate a small business. At the heart of this village, we’ll have a central seating area for community events, including art showcases and screenings of independent and local films. Plus, our non-profit concession stand will offer free bread, lovingly supplied by Moon Village Bakery.

🎨 **Why We Need You:**
To make this dream a reality, we’re seeking donations from our community. Your support will help us build this village, and in return, we’re offering something special—bread! Donations can be paid back in delicious loaves from Moon Village Bakery. If you’re an artist, maker, or entrepreneur, we also have 5 spaces left, and you can secure yours with a $1,500 down payment. Can’t do that all at once? No problem! We’re open to negotiating a sliding scale to make it work for you.

🌟 **How You Can Help:**
- **Donate** to help build the Artisan Village and get repaid in bread or other creative ways!
- **Rent a Space** to bring your business dreams to life in a supportive community.
- **Spread the Word** and help us find others who might be interested.

Let’s build something amazing together! 🌱

Interested? Reach out to us here or contact us directly for more details. Thank you for being a part of our vision for a vibrant, artistic Skyway!

OG Dutty Boukman (Also known as "Boukman Dutty") (died 7 November 1791) was an early leader of the Haitian Revolution. Born in Senegambia (present-day Senegal and Gambia), he was captured, enslaved and transported to Jamaica. He eventually ended up in Haiti, where he became a leader of the Maroons and a vodou hougan (priest).

According to some contemporary accounts, Boukman, alongside Cécile Fatiman, a Vodou mambo, presided over the religious ceremony at Bois Caïman, in August 1791, that served as the catalyst to the 1791 slave revolt which is usually considered the beginning of the Haitian Revolution.

Boukman was a key leader of the slave revolt in the Le Cap‑Français region in the north of the colony. He was killed by the French planters and colonial troops on 7 November 1791, just a few months after the beginning of the uprising. The French then publicly displayed Boukman's head in an attempt to dispel the aura of invincibility that Boukman had cultivated. The fact that authorities had to do this illustrates the impact Boukman made on the views of Haitian people during this revolution

Condoms are sanitary and capable of taking hundreds of pounds of pressure due to the release of gases produced by yeast fermentation, never ferment in a closed container it will blow up. If you lose your carburetor a condom is the next best thing. When it deflates you know the fermentation is over.

It is disconcerting to witness individuals publicly proclaiming leftist ideologies, emphasizing the need to tax the wealthy and fight income inequality, while simultaneously investing substantial amounts of money in licensing mainstream and corporate intellectual properties for their businesses, organizations, or events. I have personally encountered numerous individuals engaged in this practice, often being recipients of significant funds from banks, crowdfunding campaigns, or grants to initiate businesses that have yet to generate profits. Consequently, these individuals spend tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars on licensing corporate intellectual properties, effectively perpetuating the cycle of enriching billionaires, striving to absorb some of their glory and popularity. Rather than allocating these substantial sums towards supporting struggling young artists, fostering their ability to earn a living wage and achieve recognition, they inadvertently contribute to a system that prioritizes external popularity and corporate interests over local economies and everyday people.

It is disheartening to observe organizations and businesses that claim to champion the cause of poverty alleviation continue to receive millions of dollars in annual support. Regrettably, these funds are often squandered on ostentatious displays and extravagant parties disguised as organizing efforts or redirected back into the coffers of corporate America. The emerging trend of latching onto pop culture and corporate media, particularly by individuals on the left who are theoretically opposed to it, is perplexing. Paradoxically, while Republicans and right-wingers express disdain for corporate media, those who should be opposing the grip of colossal corporations, which devour national wealth and exploit workers and consumers, seem to embrace and celebrate capitalist and exploitative art and media. Ironically, it is right-wingers who often benefit the most financially from these very corporations, contributing to the perpetuation of a right-wing, racist, and inhumane society that disregards the plight of the poor and marginalized individuals both within our country and abroad. It is imperative that we awaken to this reality.

Pop culture and corporate media, despite their supposed representation of people of color and LGBTQ individuals, are toxic elements within society. They serve as catalysts for some of the most detestable atrocities witnessed throughout history, reinforcing the ever-widening chasm between the rich and the poor. We must dismantle the vicious cycle and recognize the detrimental consequences of perpetuating this symbiotic relationship between corporate entities and our societal structures. It is high time we break free from the allure of pop culture and corporate media, championing a paradigm shift that prioritizes social justice, equality, and support for local economies. By aligning our actions with our principles and refraining from subsidizing the very forces that exacerbate wealth inequality, we can begin to forge a more equitable and compassionate path forward.

01/06/2024

It's crazy that there are people who will literally say in public that they are leftist and they want to tax the rich. Or fight income inequality. But at the same time they would spend tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars licensing mainstream and corporate IPs for their business, organization, or event. I've met multiple people who are doing this and it's not like they're doing it for a successful business they were just given insane amounts of money by banks, crowdfunding or grants to start businesses that haven't even made a profit. Anyways they're spending tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars on licensing corporate intellectual properties so they are continually giving insane amounts of money to billionaires in hopes of absorbing some of their Glory and popularity, instead of using those thousands of dollars to help struggling and Young artist make a living wage. And give them a chance at becoming relevant or well known. When are we going to start caring about the local economy? when are we going to start caring about everyday people? How can organizations and businesses that claim they care about the poor. Continue to get millions of dollars every year from supporters who allow them to waste so much on pageantry and throwing themselves drunken parties under the guise of organizing. Or funneling money back into the pockets of corporate america. I'm getting really tired of this trend recently in which everybody feels the need to latch onto pop culture and corporate media. Especially from people on the left who are really supposed to oppose it. It's almost like since Republicans and right Wingers are opposed to corporate media, the people who are supposed to be opposed to huge corporations that absorb the wealth of the nation and exploit workers and consumers. Are playing the opposite game and instead loving the most capitalist and exploitative art and media in the world to try to stick it to Republicans, hilariously right Wingers own and benefit monetarily from these corporations more than anybody which is why our country remains right wing, racist and inhumane towards the poor and brown people in other nations. Wake up. Pop culture and corporate media is toxic it doesn't matter if they have representation for people of color and lgbtq people. They still support some of the worst atrocities the planet has ever seen. And they are the reason why they're rich continue to get rich in the four continue to get four. Stop the Vicious Cycle.

Would anybody be interested in helping out a black and Indigenous family this season. This is a mutual Aid request. My family needs money to pay our bills this month so we don't loose our housing. All I want for the holiday is to be comfortable. Partner and I run a small business where we bake a variety of all natural baked goods. We have vegan options for everything. Please consider ordering something. If you can help us pay our bills we can help you out by giving you baked goods. Everybody Eats right? If you don't want any baked goods I would also be accepting donations. But my preference is to participate in mutual aid. You know both parties benefit somehow. We also just started a publication so theoretically if you make a donation to us I can just give you one of our recently published magazines. Please help us reach our goal of $2,500 so we can pay our house payment.

It has been an extra difficult the past 2 months. And at Moon Village Bakery we're in desperate need for funds. Our goal is Raising $2,500. To pay for our house payment. Last month I was hit with 1,200 worth of tickets and toll bills. I was under front of losing my driver's license which would drastically affect my livelihood. As our business is heavily reliant on delivery. Three of the tickets that I got were received when driving in eastern washington. It just so happens anytime I'm in Eastern Washington I get pulled over and ticketed. So to put it lightly we're in desperate need of in order to survive as a business and as a family. I'm not asking for handouts. Just business. And help promoting our business. As many of you know we have a bread subscription service and we make cakes and pies. Your orders can be picked up at our storefront or delivered to you.
Please consider ordering something or just sharing on your social media platforms to help without reach. Help keep skyways only bipoc bakery alive Moon Village Bakery

I'm seriously contemplating either closing down the storefront or renting the front out to another bussiness due to lack of frequent walk in customers. No one single person has came in today (as a walk in) and im getting burnt out making product for no reason. I enjoy giving bread out for free to people who are struggling. And the surprise boxes were doing all right. But I would have to post everyday and make a cute video Everyday to promote it and the most I'd make off of surprise boxes in a day was 50 bucks. I also couldn't make it home for dinner because I would be out delivering until like 9:00 p.m. if anybody's interested in renting out the front half of the store. Please contact me. I would still be using the kitchen space in the back. But I think that the front would be better suitable for somebody selling products who is better at marketing and advertising.
