Big thanks to Erick of Subways on the Sun for dropping of their new record ‘Capsize’. Out now on Spartan Records this is the second LP I’ve had the chance to master for them and I’m really proud of how it sounds! Genius mixes from Don Farwell at Earwig Studio with super tight performances and intelligent melodies from the band...this is certainly one worth checking out!

Huge congrats to SYML for their recent Gold certification in Canada for the single ‘Where’s My Love’. Brian is a crazy talented musician and songwriter who often combines organic acoustic tones with rich synth based soundscapes. It’s always a pleasure to work with him and mastering this song was no exception!

2017 has been an incredible year here at Black Belt Mastering. As I look back, I consider it a success and it is 100% because of all the wonderful people that chose to work with me for either mastering or lacquer cutting...without you, my business would not exist! A very heartfelt thank you to all.

I completed my second year cutting master lacquers and was trusted by other incredibly talented mastering engineers to further work with their clients to help them realize their vinyl records. I love doing this and was even totally surprised with a Grammy nomination to one of the records I cut!

Mastering records for digital and CD (yes, people still make CD's 😝) continues to be the main kind of session here and I've had the best time working closely with everyone who was able to attend a session and those who are sending music remotely. I love collaborating and seeing the huge smiles on people's faces when they hear the master...it makes my day!

Moving in to 2018, I look forward to further improving my skills to make even better sounding masters and cuts. Most of all I look forward to working with you!
