resent day as the State Theater of Maine, the Lakewood Theatre Colony embodies a rich local and cultural history. My name is Jenny Oby, and I am a native of Skowhegan (now living in Scottsdale, AZ). I authored a book for Arcadia Publishing, called "Images of America: Lakewood Theatre", which is available for purchase here on this page. I am also working on a second book that will contain more "local color" (stories of folks who remember Lakewood from long ago!). If you have photos, postcards, playbills, or stories about Lakewood that you would like me to use in one of my books, please message me or email me. Meanwhile, please “like” my page and share my posts so that we can work together to preserve the history of this wonderful theater colony.
