I don’t care what side of the fence you are on in regards to any situation or how justified you feel in your stance. If human suffering or the simulation of human suffering is amusing to you and spreading hatred is a part of your dialogue then I do not want to be connected to you.
To wish death upon someone as a joke or in seriousness is beyond vile.

For my birthday this year, I have posted a gofundme fund raiser. Most years when I do a birthday fundraiser I do it for the benefit of some other worthy cause. This year I could find no other cause more worthy than myself during these hard times. The expected work opportunities did not come about this spring, due to postponements and cancellations. Now I know everyone is cash strapped or maybe have no interest in such fund raisers, but perhaps you could share this gofundme with your community of friends that might be in a better, more generous position to help a brother out. Sometimes the best made plans can be wrought with ruin and in the case of a recording project, the tiniest thing that could go wrong can scrap an entire session. Last nights remote recording was one of several with the Wild Banshees at the same location, Pho Cao. It started out as been in the past, very routine with a little trick to record dry vocals and dry guitar parts before a vocalizer prosseser. But during the recording was noticed we were hearing the switch activity of the prosseser in the PA. Some quick thinking by ShanJam Crane found I had inadvertently given the PA duplicate inputs of the vocalizer. Her troubleshooting got us out of the quagmire. Quickly eliminating the clicking sound of the foot switches, we were back on track. The band played great and I am confident that we got some useful recordings for mix down. It really does take a team to get the best results, that’s why I enjoy recording, the team, the band, moving together, even through adversity to achieve a common goal.

The first time I met Eric Ramsey he was quite new to the process of recording his songs. But he soon was on board and the process was well worth the task of completing his first album that would launch his music career. And today we celebrate his induction into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame. Congratulations my friend, a well-deserved accolade. Here it is, deal of the day. I am offering up this very nice audio rig I assembled a few years back. Our intention was to have a smaller footprint setup for both live sound reinforcement and multitrack recording at any location. Things were looking good and promising in early 2020 but then the covid pandemic bs set in and we lost all of our bookings. Since then we really haven’t been able to get our footing back with live sound or remote recording. It’s not that I am in need of money at this time, I just find this as a redundancy to our other rigs that we don’t need and the rig might find better use with someone else. Whether it be for your home studio recording, live gig reinforcement, house rig for your music venue or remote recording, this set up will do it all. The Behringer Producer X32 is a wonderful unit, half the size of a full X32 and includes the expansion card for multitrack recording along with a Library full of instrument presets for mixing. Installed in a very nice road case for travel convenience. This, along with the Midas DL32 stage box, allows the small mixer to input 32 channels and 16 outputs just like its big brother. The DL32 comes in a very nice Calzone road case and 100 feet of high quality shielded cat6 Ethernet cable. I’m not willing to separate the two pieces as one piece does nothing for me with outi the other piece. It all started off simple enough, direct enough and then we turned the corner on this new song after a day of inspirational hiking in the mountains. The story wanted more and the production was inclined to go to the next level and make this a true work of old western story telling, nearly a lost art. The song Geronimo Moon, written by Bob Diaz, has been playing in the forefront of our imagination and we have all the pieces in place for a full and inspired creation. With the addition of a second guitar, banjo, harmonica, backing vocals, this recording is on fire. We are beginning to lay this multitrack recording out on the mix console with all the gadgets connected, cleaning up the tracks and finding the sweet spot for each instrument and voice. There is still much to do but we have finally arrived at the moment this studio comes alive with all the flashing lights and of the tonal quality and expansive audio landscapes it is known for.

The studio is alive and well. Just keep believing and it will happen. Now who was in the studio? Why that would be my high school guitar teacher, Bob Diaz. Yea, it’s been a while since we last got to spend some quality time together, but here we are working on a new recording for his song, Geronimo Moon. The best part of recording guitar parts is, well, the guitars. We had a great time going through and sampling the many tones and ended up with four guitars being recorded. And yes, there it is, my pops old Gibson in the hands of the master. It’s been a long time since all the lights and meters have lit up and did their preamp and contouring greatness, but after a little wiggle of the k***s and some flipping of the switches things came back to life. A glorious thing to behold. Even the one trick pony, the black box got some action as a ribbon mic preamp. Twist the k***s this way and that and boom, all dialed in. The pup Lily is doing her best to become the studio dog that she hopes to be. Some day, perhaps, she will earn the moniker of studio dog “A”. But for now, we’re just happy she is not hu***ng the clientele. Sit, Good girl Lily.

Yea, who would have thought that some 44 years later my music teacher would be recording a new original song at the studio. The photos show Bob and his crew laying down rhythm tracks for a song Bob wrote and I am recording and producing.

The first live show using our own PA system went very well, although live sound reinforcement might be secondary when you are booking a gig, consider the setup time you can save by having the PA arrive and set up hours before you show up for sound check. Our goal for the new console, the X32 with 32 channel Midas stage box and the recording interface card was meant for live show recording as the priority, but we can also facilitate an entire live show using our system or yours. We are looking to book many more shows in the coming months as events and venues reopen with new life and vigor. Keep the music alive. Thank you for your continued support.

Here we are in 2021, and like last year we are eager to get our gear out of storage and ready for use. Unfortunately right after January all our booked shows were cancelled due to the covid BS. The photos here show our live sound system with an assortment of our available consoles for any show small to medium venues. The three digital boards, the Presonus, the Souncraft and the Behringer are all equipped with recording options installed for easy set up, minimum space required for a live recording session. With our ability to utilize an isolated split snake we are able to record the show outside of the venue to minimize personnel in the venue, given some new seating restrictions. We can also set up our PA or your PA for your gig to minimize your exposure to the venue staff hours before you need to go on stage. It’s as simple as that.
