(MINATARE, Neb.) -- In a huge cooperative effort between local law enforcement, Emergency Management Agencies, Panhandle Scanner and the Nebraska Panhandle Weather Alerts and Road Conditions group, the stage is nearly set!

Panhandle Scanner on June 28th and Minatare Nebraska for the first ever MEGA Block Party aimed at bringing awareness to domestic violence issues, mental health and wellness, recognizing our area First Responders and supporting local small businesses.

Some people might think this next thing is funny, but it's serious business. We heard there are some events that don't have enough porta potties. There won't be any report of potty shortage at this block party! We even have ADA Accessible units and a kids unit!

We will be at various Firework Stands today discussing safety, discharging times an days etc etc; As many in the region open at 10:00 a.m. today we will try to make our rounds everywhere!

** 4 Days Away - THIS SATURDAY **
Come meet some of those everyday heroes that live amongst us - Saturday, June 28th in Minatare, Nebraska!

Air Link at Regional West will fly in and land at the football field at 10:00 a.m.

Minatare Melbeta Fire Department will be honoring our colors and helping run our first aid station.

Region 22 Emergency Management will be present for tours of their mobile command unit.

Nebraska State Patrol will be demonstrating their drunk driving course.

And don't forget to come meet K9 Frodo from the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office!

!!!! Move Over it's the Law !!!!

** NO EXCUSES **
When an emergency vehicle is pulled over on the side of the road, there should be no excuse why you would hit it!! Other than total disregard for someone else's safety, we can't think of a good reason why this is happening...

Again… This is the second time in 10 days that a trooper’s cruiser was hit while responding to another crash. Thankfully the Trooper was not in the cruiser and was not injured, nor was the driver.

Pay attention to the road while driving. First responders’ lives depend on it.

Imagine if you were drinking and driving, racing and not only crashed but ejected your 16 year old passenger who wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Would you only get cited or would you go to jail like the rest of Us.

Scottsbluff Police Department officers cited Rzonca for Driving Under the Influence and Reckless Driving. NOT TAKEN TO JAIL. So while a young man fought for his life A Rzonca was able to go home and sleep it( her intoxication ) off.

City of Scottsbluff, Nebraska- Government once again our youth are getting hurt and there are Zero repercussions for endangering our youth.
