November's Artist Spotlight is bodie!
You may recognize Bodie from his standout 4-chair turn on Season 22 of The Voice. His stirring performance of Brandon Lake's "Gratitude" captivated fans and earned him a place on Team Blake Shelton, ultimately securing him a runner-up finish.
Before his rise to national fame, Bodie served as a worship leader for several churches in Southern California and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Worship Arts from Vanguard University. His experience in ministry and music laid a strong foundation for his career.
Following The Voice, Bodie took his time deciding his next steps. Though initially hesitant to partner with a Christian record label, he eventually signed with Provident Records. In April, he debuted his first EP, Happy To Be Here, featuring the lead single "RIP."
Reflecting on the inspiration for "RIP," Bodie shared: "I wanted to write a song that celebrated the decision and miracle of dying to one’s fleshly nature (Galatians 5:24) and living as a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The lyrics are straightforward and aggressive to emphasize that a deep relationship with Christ requires consistently leaving your old life behind and denying your flesh daily. I’m so excited for you to hear my new song, ‘RIP,’ and I hope it inspires you—and maybe even makes you headbang in your Prius."
Bodie's unique blend of worship and artistry continues to resonate with fans, old and new.
