I will be forever indebted to John Whitehead for giving me my big break as an artist and songwriter in Philadelphia introducing me to the people who made up "The Philly Sound...." - J. M.
"Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" is a 1979 disco song performed by American R&B duo McFadden & Whitehead, from their debut album McFadden & Whitehead. They wrote and produced the song along with keyboard player Jerry Cohen.
"Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" is about succeeding despite having faced previous disadvantages ("so many things that held us down"). It was widely interpreted to be about the experience of the African American community, and after attaining popularity, became referred to as "the new black national anthem" (the original being the 1900 song "Lift Every Voice and Sing").
Kelefa Sanneh noted the song was, "an exuberant number often interpreted as an expression of Black pride", but also that the authors of the song were in a dispute over royalties with their record label Philadelphia International. Whitehead said, "If anything, the song was a declaration of our independence from Gamble.
Despite being seen as social commentary, in an interview conducted by Philadelphia video producer Bob Lott, Whitehead and McFadden revealed that the song was actually about their frustration with Philadelphia International owners Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, who for many years preferred that they remain as house songwriters and not performers. Gamble has confirmed that upon first hearing "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now", he tried unsuccessfully to convince McFadden and Whitehead to give the song to the O'Jays, as he felt it was better to write and produce for the prominent recording artists of the day than to try to compete with them as on-stage performers.
This song features a female chorus in the repeated refrain. Electronic beeping feedback sounds are heard towards the ending of the longer version of the song.
Released as the lead single from the album, the song spent a week at number one on the R&B singles chart. It also proved to be a successful crossover hit, peaking at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single also made it to number 10 on the disco charts, and reached number 5 in the UK. It eventually went double Platinum for selling 2 million copies.

First off, let me say a big THANK YOU because if you're reading this, it probably means you have purchased a JACODA MUSIC song and/or CD and I appreciate the choice you've made. I just want you to know that this song/CD you hold in your hands is the culmination of much time, effort, money and, most importantly, creative imagination. It is the fulfillment of a dream I've had since I was a young person - the dream of having a record/music publishing company where artists could enjoy the true benefits and satisfaction of having their dreams fulfilled on THEIR terms.

No man is an island, therefore there are countless people to thank and give respect to. I will start with four without whom I would not exist to tell the stories of victory and triumph. Firstly I thank my Heavenly Father JEHOVAH, secondly his son JESUS, finally my parents Lillie G. and Carl McQuay, Sr., for through their love I am here today.

Next are my physical brothers and sisters, to and from whom love is constantly given and received. The great bandleader Orlando "Mr. G" Gagliardi, Ms. C. Blumenthal, and Elias Lebron, I can’t thank you enough for your belief in me.

JACODA RECORDS was a dream conceived in 1987 by myself and two other people to whom I will be forever grateful for coming into my life, Cynthia Elaine Oakes and David Alsbrooks. We three wanted to form a record label where we could create music and lyrics that were so lucid that you not only listened, you could feel it, see it. Thank you both for helping to plant the initial seed.

In 1995 I met the person who changed my life and was very instrumental in helping "the dream" come to fruition, James D. Forbes, master engineer, master partner, master friend, master human being. James and I spent the four years cultivating the seed. In 1999 JACODA MUSIC PUBLISHING, INC. was formed.

Fast forward to 2017, when we moved JACODA’s companies to Florida. An accountant by trade, but a budding, promising singer/songwriter/pianist “in the closet” as it were, Ms. Barbara J. Baker came into our lives, into our company, into our musical family and brought with her a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, which turned out to be a perfect qualification for the job title of Secretary/Treasurer. In the almost 3 years she has been with JACODA, she has proved to be a valuable asset to the company behind the scenes as a 3rd Officer of JACODA, as well as in front as a solo artist who we will be proudly releasing her first album ever of original material she has written, plus she also has the distinction of introducing legendary 60’s girl group THE GOODIES to JACODA and now musical history is about to be rewritten as THE GOODIES with Original Lead Singer Maryann Gesmundo Regal releases their first album on JACODA RECORDS ever since their last hit single over 5 decades ago!!!!

We at JACODA MUSIC PUBLISHING, INC. intend to continue bringing you timeless music from great songwriters like JAYAR MACK and to continue to live "the dream". JAYAR, words can not express how much we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to showcase your colossal talent to the world!
