As we move into the future, into this new world of digital and practical art and content creation, it is more than vital that Artists own and control their work.

With AI rapidly growing and looking for digital art, written works, film, and photographic references to utilize for its own means, it is the artists who, now more than ever before, must understand the value in their talents and their ability to create content.

The way we consume art and entertainment is changing. The future is still being mapped out. The old ways of distribution are falling to the wayside and those who control those infrastructures are responding to the change by seizing control of either the artists or the ownership of their works. Or worse, owning and controlling both, the artists and their content.

DO NOT BECOME A SLAVE.

My friends and clients, Edward and Claudia Swan. I love spending time with them. I've wanted to have them in my studio for a session for years now. We finally made it happen. We listened to music, talked, laughed, and told our stories. The story of how they met was so wonderful and funny. They are both so cool and sophisticated. They possess that swagger and style I see only in "certain" couples. ;)
Y'all know what I mean.

This year, I am supporting Art 4 Change during the 2024 Giving Challenge by joining in on Art 4 Change’s “Wave of Expression” Facebook Challenge to rally support during the 24-hour online giving event starting April 9th at 12 PM.

I challenge you to support Art 4 Change and join this artistic movement by finding or creating a piece of artwork that embodies the change you envision for the world and encourage your friends to do the same.

The artwork I chose is an image that I photographed from my "Backstage" series. The is photo is called "Stepp Sisters Praying". To me this symbolizes a desire for connection to God for power, love, and change.
