A new chapter has begun …

I’m so excited to share that I have taken over ownership of Seaside. It’s been a dream of mine to build a space where people can feel seen, heard, and emotionally supported. At Seaside, I provide virtual therapy sessions to clients all throughout the state of Florida. 💻

I am inspired by the beauty in everyday moments and I help clients find the same within themselves. It’s so important to surround yourself with beauty, both inside and out, to strengthen your emotional wellness journey as well as personal connections in life.

As a therapist and as a content creator, I focus on what’s important. Just like a camera, I highlight + capture the good times and develop from the negatives. 📷

A ode to Holly + . 🤍

To know her is to love her. And by extension, the most beautiful lil boutique that could.

Before I even created , I was following along her journey on ig and mesmerized by the beauty she is + created with Modern Soul. She seemed so down to earth in stories. (And she is IRL.)

One weekend, Alex and I drove to .armandscircle and I stopped in to get a dress for NYE. And there she was. In the flesh. I felt like I was meeting a celebrity and tried my best not to start the conversation with giggles. Here she was helping me find a dress!?! (She has a way of finding the perfect things for your body type)

I’ve created a wardrobe that is filled with Modern Soul. From t-shirts and jeans to everyday dresses … and of course, my very favorite jean jacket.

I’ve had some special moments over the last 5 years which “required” a Modern Soul dress including a birthday celebration, content creator dinners, engagement photos at the farm, a bridal shower, a pre-wedding hair and makeup appointment, and wedding rehearsal. And during the most special moment of all, our wedding day, Holly was by my side. What an honor!

I literally (insert British accent here) jumped at the chance to model with Holly (also including quality time with and .goes) for the boutique. It was absolute dream come true and something I’ll treasure for the rest of my life.

Fast forward to now. We’ve had the worst hurricane season any of us have experienced in our lifetime on the gulf coast. Despite Holly’s preparations, the boutique (as well as the circle + island communities) flooded with storm surge. It’s been heartbreaking to see and she made the decision to close the boutique.

This doesn’t mean the end of Modern Soul. This means stay tuned to see how Holly recreates the beauty that is the Modern Soul.

All that noise and all that sound.

It’s something that you will hear from anyone who has experienced a hurricane. The whistling. The wind blowing like it never has before.

In all of that noise, there is a moment when everything is eerily quiet. The calm of the storm. For some, it lasted only a few minutes. For others (mostly in the direct path) it lasted for what felt like an eternity … knowing the second half of the storm would be far worse than the first half.

Alex and I, along with my bonus daughter Ashley, live in a part of Sarasota that is not in an evacuation zone. We were as prepared as anyone could be under the circumstances. We hunkered down in a safe part of our home away from windows and areas that were close to the trees.

As we ventured outside the next morning, we noticed debris all around our home, throughout our subdivision, and all throughout town. Our roof has some damage, but will be repaired. We were without power for a few days, but thankfully it has been restored. (Our family throughout Florida is also safe and sound.)

Not everyone was as fortunate during this storm or in the previous one. Our hearts go out to those still trying to recover. In the days, weeks, and months to come… we will do what we can to help our community. Because in times like these, we need to come together.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all of the destruction. There are no words to describe the devastation that local families, friends, and businesses are experiencing.

The road to recovery will be a journey. Together, we can rebuild our community, support each other, and emerge stronger than ever. The gulf coast is resilient. 🌊

In times like these …

We are not strangers to hurricanes. 🌀

In Sarasota, there is such resilience, strength, and a sense of community. Together, we have faced challenges and emerged stronger. And we will do it again. 🤍

In times like these …. I, like many others, are reflecting on who and what is important. Alex and I, along with our family, did not have any significant damage during the hurricane but are heartbroken for our friends and local businesses who did.

Our city and the gulf coast of Florida will start to recover. Stay safe, friends. 🙏🏻

Set Sail on the Swift ⛵️

Sailing is a journey of discovery, both of the world around us and of ourselves. ~ unknown

The Swift is part of the original windjammer fleet established in 1936 by Captain Frank Swift. He was the first to offer sailing opportunities for an all-inclusive vacations. ☀️

Alex and I, along with our family, recently spent three days on the windjammer. As we left Camden Harbor, it was foggy, rainy and very windy … but by the next morning, the sun was shining and the wind had diminished. At times, the ocean water was choppy and other times, it was completely still. The ebb and flow of life. 🌊

Our sailboat would take us throughout the surrounding islands so that we could explore Buck’s Harbor and 700 Anchor Island. ⚓️

We would dine on lobster at night and had a beautiful display of quiche, charcuterie, soups and salads throughout the day. 🦞

Our days were spent gazing at the endless seas, listening to the waves and exploring the unknown. There is such a simplicity in experiences like this. A reminder of what we truly need in life and who + what is really important. 🤍
