"California Love" samples Ronnie Hudson's 1982 hit "West Coast Poplock," written by Wise Music writers Ronnie Hudson and Mikel Hooks alongside John Cocker, Chris Stainton, Roger Troutman, and Larry Troutman.
Evan Kidd Bogart joined @findinghitsongs where he explained the lyrics behind Rihanna's smash hit "SOS" and the mulitple references to 80's Pop songs.
Beyond referencing 80s songs in the lyrics, "SOS" also samples Soft Cell's "Tainted Love," written by Wise Music's own Ed Cobb.
