This is a great BTS of our hover board flight sequence. did great work to remove wires and harness. We used our Action Factory multi-axis winch system and 3D flight computer to accomplish a “skate” look under a low angle ceiling challenge. Our motto has always been “Resources equal success” this sophisticated equipment allows an action designer to step into a realm that is hard to be touched. Thank you Walter Scott for coming down and sharing stories from Backdraft. A giant thank you to the AF team for putting it all together and making it run smooth. This event could not have happened without you. Megan, Grace, Thomas, Kevin, Marisa, Ken,Bryce,Elizabeth, Julia and Tim - THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone that came out, we hope you enjoyed the show. No stunt performer prefers to hit the hard ground, at least not the ones who know take two thur ten are going to increasingly sting. The VFX dept often complains that if a pad is used then it will potentially cover the performers body parts in a way that needs to be replaced in post and the producer never likes having to spend more money on avoidable shots. So what if there was a solution? There is! This drop shows a performer can repeatedly drop 15’ on to a firm surface that doesn’t cover there extremities and looks like a solid impact. With a little help from the art dept and construction it can be built into the set and the magic trick in camera is complete. Save the body, save the shot and wow the audience.
