Is your growth strategy missing out because you’re not investing in an Instagram broadcast channel?
Before you dive in headfirst to start one, here’s a list of pros and cons that’ll help you decide if it’s the right choice for your account based on:
→ what you’re selling
→ your niche or category
→ your account size/engagement
→ you or your team’s bandwidth
🤷 “What the heck is a broadcast channel?”
Here’s the TL;DR ⬇️
Think of it like a group chat with your followers. It shows up in your follower’s DMs AND also notifies them of any new messages as a DM, which is a major benefit thanks to its direct access to your audience.
As a channel owner, you can:
→ share voice notes
→ promote it in your Stories and pin it to your profile
→ add a collaborator to message/moderate
→ share polls, question prompts, your IG posts, messages, and external links

🧐 Did you know about this “Add Mentions” feature for Instagram Stories?
Almost every one of us, social media veteran or small business owner alike, has made the dreaded mistake of forgetting to tag certain accounts in your Stories after you’ve already hit “POST.” That’s where this not-so-obvious Instagram feature comes in.
📝 All you have to do is:
→ go to your Story and tap the three dots in the bottom-right corner
→ tap the “Add Mentions” option in the menu
→ type + add the accounts you wanted to originally tag in your Story (Instagram allows up to 20 accounts)
→ …and you’re done!
Did you know about this feature? 💬

Quality and frequency in touch points > post virality 🔥
One of the takeaways from my expensive traditional marketing degree was this principle that I remember being applied to print advertising at the time. Who remembers newspapers? 😮💨😂
Our marketing medium may have drastically changed but who we’re trying to reach hasn’t — humans 👋

New "Stop Motion" Instagram Carousel Feature
Here's the gist of this hidden Instagram Carousel feature 👇
→ If you just hold down on the dots and move your finger to the right, you'll see the new "stop motion" effect.
→ Brands and creators are experimenting with this feature by adding a text overlay call-to-action on their carousel posts.
Instagram rewards accounts that encourage users to engage with posts and stay on the app for as long as possible. This new feature adds a playful twist to your visual storytelling, opening up more opportunities to keep your audience hooked until the very end.
🚨 DON'T FORGET to add a graphic or text overlay on the first image of your carousel to direct people to "hold the dots and scroll" or else they won't experience this new "stop motion" effect.
💬 Did you know about this Carousel feature? Do you think you'll be testing it out with your account?
💬 thanks for the Q, @el_venter — this is for you!
📌 SAVE THIS for setting up your first paid social campaign on Instagram or Facebook:
1️⃣ START SMALL: This is important especially if you’re on a very limited budget. You don’t need to be spending hundreds of dollars a day to move the needle toward your goals, but you have to be crystal clear with your goals, your messaging, and your audience targeting.
2️⃣ SHIFT TO A DATA COLLECTION MINDSET RATHER THAN CONVERSIONS: The more you post, the more you begin to understand what content styles and topics perform best. Take the same approach with your objective, audience targeting and ad creative.
3️⃣ FOCUS MORE ON SHORT SPRINTS RATHER THAN MONTHS-LONG CAMPAIGN TIMELINE: this will help you stretch your ad dollars to get the most data as possible while also sticking to your limited budget.
Like I mentioned in the video, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Drop your questions in the comments to be answered in a future post 👇
😮💨 Life happens to all of us: burnout, health issues, unexpected significant changes in your personal life or business that takes you away from social media much longer than you anticipated.
And sometimes the best thing for us is to take a step away for as long as needed. Reaching my 7th year now in the social media business, I understand that feeling very well.
If a social media consultant or manager ever told you that they've never experienced burnout in this profession, they're probably lying 🤥
Getting back into the groove of creating and posting content again can be ROUGH on our time and especially on our mental health, when we see performance dwindling compared to the metrics we used to see back when we were active.
Let this be your reminder to just keep posting so you can learn, re-engage with your followers, optimize and eventually reach your goals.
If your posts flop, it's not the end of your business. And what else are we going to do, give up? 👎 Of course not.
What's your biggest struggle right now when it comes to showing up on social media for your business or personal brand?
