A big congratulations to Brynt D. Johnson for being appointed as the new Director of the City’s Public Works and Utilities Department! 👏🏽

City of Sanford Hires New Public Works and Utilities Director
Sanford City Manager Norton N. Bonaparte, Jr. is pleased to announce his appointment of Brynt D. Johnson as the new Director of the City’s Public Works and Utilities Department. The City of Sanford’s Public Works and Utilities Department is the largest Department with the most employees comprised of several Divisions: Streets, Stormwater, Utilities, Facilities Maintenance, Fleet Maintenance, and Solid Waste.
Mr. Johnson has vast experience working in the public works and utilities field particularly for municipalities in South Florida, most recently as the Director of Engineering and Building Services for the City of Oakland Park, Florida. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science – Engineering Technology from Daytona State College, a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Project Management from Pennsylvania State University. He is certified as a State of Florida General Contractor, Roofing Contractor, Building Code Administrator, Plans Examiner and Building Inspector as well as a Floodplain Manager, and has overseen numerous civil engineering projects in the engineering and project manager capacity. In addition, Mr. Johnson is the owner of No Limit Development, Inc. since 2004, a commercial and residential general contracting business.
We welcome Mr. Johnson to the City of Sanford employee family and look forward to his leadership. Mr. Johnson is scheduled to start his new role with the City on January 2, 2024.

The perfect way to spend your Labor Day: Wekiva Island 🛶☀️

Right here in our backyard sits Wekiva Island, an indoor/outdoor recreation complex to enjoy Florida’s natural springs.

They have everything from kayaking and canoeing to paddleboarding and volleyball. While visitors soak up the sun, they can unwind with a refreshing beverage and tasty food from their onsite food truck and bar.
