Throughout this world wide health crisis, I can't help but be thinking about how connected we all really are; how much we all have in common in spite of our perception of being separate. That division is self made and an illusion.

We all breathe without even having to make that happen.
Each breath is a gift that we mostly just take for granted until it is gone and we've moved on. This is a wake up call.

We can choose to wake up or just continue as we were.

We are all being reminded how important our lungs are and how much we can affect each other just by being near.

We are truly an interconnected planetary organism.

No matter what religion, race, cultural or socioeconomic label you most associate yourself with, we are all vulnerable and we are all important! Each and every one of us counts!

My deepest wish is that we can move forward from this pandemic with more compassion, and care for one another like human beings sharing a planet should be doing!

We recently had my good friend Jason Crosby in doing piano overdubs for the new Ace of Cups record on a song written by Denise Kaufman featuring Jackson Browne.

Look for the new Ace record later this year. I am deep into the mixing stage now and loving it.

We recently upgraded both control rooms' subwoofer systems with the help of my good friend Manny La Carrubba. Instead of one sub, there are now four per room. The difference in detail, coverage and punch is absolutely phenomenal.

Here's a shot of Maria Muldaur at the Grammys. It's an honor to have gotten this close, especially when the winner is a living legend like Buddy Guy! Thanks for having me along to mix and master Maria! It was a real pleasure.

As you may know, Buddy Guy won the Grammy for Best Blues Record. Everyone who was nominated is a venerable artist, but Buddy Guy qualifies as a living legend, so CONGRATULATIONS to Buddy and to everyone who got the nod from our peers to make it to the last round.

Today is the day the we find out if the record that I mixed and mastered for Maria Muldaur "Don't You Feel My Leg" wins the Grammy for "Best Traditional Blues Record!" Maria certainly deserves it! Either way, it's an honor to have been asked to participate in this awesome record which was tracked in New Orleans with the real deal guys! I'm keepin' fingers crossed!

We recently had Freddy Clarke and his 11 piece band at the Tiger. 11 people using 40 inputs and 10 headphone mixes were spread out over both floors and studios. The music is a mix of Cuban and Mid Eastern styles that is uniquely Freddy Clarke. Awesome! Here's a few shots.

I'm stoked to announce that my long time friend and client Maria Muldaur has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Traditional Blues Record category.
This record was recorded in New Orleans with da real cats and was mixed and mastered it at Laughing Tiger Studios by Ari Rios. A well deserved Congratulations to you Maria!

My good friend Preston Glass is back at Laughing Tiger once again.
This time he brought in a brilliant and passionate, internationally known pianist Marta Lledo.
She first blew my mind on the piano and then blew my mind by pronouncing Laughing Tiger's
Yamaha C7 as being her favorite piano amongst the Bosendorfer and Steinway pianos she
has played around the world! WOW!! We will post the video to You Tube soon.
You gotta think a female Liberace, with superb control and a fun Scorpio Latina to boot.
It turns out that she and I were born on the same day! Gotta love it.

I recently had the pleasure of working with vocalist Desiree Jolly laying down BVs on my friend Patrick Costello's song Baltimore City which deals with the police brutality against blacks in this country. She brought a lot of passion to the song and much fun was had! Thanks to all.
