🔵1/20/25: Driver Suspected of DUI after Crashing into Pole🔴
San Luis Obispo, Calif. - At approximately 12:22 a.m. in the intersection of South Higuera Street and Los Osos Valley Road, multiple people called about a white panel van that collided into a traffic light pole. SLOPD, SLOFD, and EMS responded to the crash. The driver of the van claimed to not be injured when questioned by police. But officers suspected that the occupant was possibly under the influence. A field sobriety test was conducted at the scene. Officers determined that the driver did not pass and ordered a blood test to further confirm the DUI. Further details will be available later as more information is provided. No one else was in the van at the time of the crash.
Southside, Tenn: An investigation is underway to determine the cause of a house fire Friday afternoon on the 4600 block of Chapel Hill Rd. Cunningham Fire Department responded to find the house fully engulfed in flames. The occupants of the home were able to escape any injury. Firefighters from Palmyra, Saint Bethlehem and the Rescue Squad came out to assist along with EMS medic 27 and Montgomery County Sheriffs. No injuries were reported in the fire. 🔥1/13/25: Cal Poly Dorm Fire🔥
San Luis Obispo, Calif. - SLOFD received a call regarding a fire alarm at approximately 4:36 p.m. inside Huasna Hall in the north part of the Cal Poly campus. Fire officials and campus police confirmed a small fire inside a dorm on the fifth floor. The building was evacuated while fire crews evaluated the situation. The fire was extinguished and contained to one dorm. Neighboring dorms were damaged due to the water sprinklers. Fire officials are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire. No injuries were reported. Several dorms were labeled as “safe” to inhabit again while others were labeled as “questionable” and “no go”. More information will be provided once released.
🔵1/12/25: Residential Burglary🔵
San Luis Obispo, Calif. - At approximately 4:20 a.m., SLOPD received a call of a burglary that occurred at an apartment building on Chorro Street near Pismo Street. According to the caller, a noise was heard in the apartment. When checking on the noise, it was discovered that a male was inside. He was confronted by the caller and swiftly left back out the same window he broke in through. The caller did not see which direction the male ran off to. Upon arrival, police found evidence of forced entry. A window screen was found broken nearby and fingerprints were found on several windows of the apartment. Police scouted the area for the male, but they were not able to locate anyone matching the description. The caller described the male as six feet tall, skinny, wearing black clothes, a beanie, light skin tone, and with a scruffy beard.
Cunningham Tenn: An investigation is underway to determine the cause of a house fire Early Sunday Morning. Firefighters from Cunningham and Palmyra were called out to Bryant Hollow Rd by a neighbor who reported the fire. 1 person received minor injuries while trying to rescue animals, it was not caused by the fire. That person was treated and released on scene by Montgomery County EMS. 5 dogs in total were rescued from the house. No other injuries were reported. Montgomery County Sheriffs also came out and closed down the road. Montgomery County Highway Department came out and salted the road due to the freezing temperatures. 🔥1/11/25: Heater Fire in Attic🔥
San Luis Obispo, Calif. - SLOFD responded to a heater fire in the 700 block of Clearview Lane. The call was made at approximately 12:14 a.m. by the occupants of the residence. The heater was located in the attic at the time of the fire. None of the occupants were injured and were all able to evacuate quickly. Fire crews were able to locate and extinguish the heater within minutes. The occupants of the home have been displaced for the meantime. PG&E were called to the scene to shut off both gas and power. The fire inspector advised PG&E to keep the gas and power shut off for the residence until an electrician can resolve a circuit issue located at the power outlet where the heater was connected.
UPDATE: According to CHP, alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. The driver of the Ford Ranger, David Berdahl, was driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes. The driver of the Jeep Liberty, Anthony Padron, saw when the Ford was approaching, attempting to swerve out of the way, but to no avail. The vehicles collided head on, leading to Berdahl to be entrapped in his Ford and the Jeep to catch fire. Padron was able to escape the Jeep before it caught fire. 🔵1/9/25: Crash Leads to Fire and Extrication🔴
Arroyo Grande, Calif. - Two people were transported to different area hospitals after a violent crash on the 101 Freeway southbound just after the North Oak Park Boulevard exit. The crash occurred at 12:43 a.m. in the innermost southbound lane. The occupant of the Ford pickup required an extrication to be freed from the wreckage. The SUV caught fire after the impact, but CHP was able to remove the occupant just in time. It was reported that the occupant of the SUV was having agonal breathing. No updates on the status of the occupants have been provided. CHP is currently investigating the crash. CAL Fire and Five Cities Fire both responded to the crash.
UPDATE: Officials confirm that at least ten people have died in the fires. The Sunset Fire was extinguished successfully 1/9/25 in the afternoon. Unfortunately, an arsonist lit another fire in the new Kenneth Fire after the Sunset Fire was extinguished. The suspect in that fire was caught by witnesses and then arrested by police who responded to the call. Charges are pending. ⚫️1/8/25: Fatal Los Angeles County WildFires⚫️
Los Angeles, Calif. - Five people have been confirmed dead after several wildfires broke out in the Pacific Palisades and Eaton area of Los Angeles. Several more broke out since Tuesday due to strong Santa Ana winds. Thousands of people have been evacuated from the area with very little time to spare. There are reports of injuries, including firefighters who are at the front line. The fires are still zero percent contained. Fire departments from across California and neighboring states are sending a reinforcements to assist Los Angeles County. If your area has been evacuated, it is best to heed the word from officials.

🔵1/3/25: Man Arrested after Short Pursuit🔵
Oceano, Calif. - At approximately 3 a.m., the SLOCSO attempted to pull over a GMC pickup truck after running a stop sign. The driver refused to stop and lead deputies on a short pursuit before bailing on foot in the 2200 block of Beach Street. The GMC was left in drive and collided with a parked vehicle nearby. The suspect ran into a few backyards down the street. A drone was launched to scan the backyards in the area. The suspect was successfully located and taken into custody at 3:40 a.m. with the assistance of both CHP and Arroyo Grande Police. Charges are pending.
Update: Riverside Dr has been reopened at this time.
Clarksville, Tenn: A motorcycle accident on Riverside Dr lead to a rider being flown to Nashville. Riverside Dr northbound is currently closed while Clarksville FACT team is investigating the accident. Southbound traffic is also being effected with delays as drivers are advised to find an alternate route. Clarksville PD, Montgomery EMS, Clarksville Fire and Rescue and Austin Peay Police were all on scene for this accident. Dash 10 Media will provide updates when they are released.
Clarksville, Tenn: Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a house fire in the East Montgomery Fire District. Firefighters were able to quickly respond and keep the fire contained to the kitchen of a house on Ewing Way. There is smoke and water damage in other portions of the house but, firefighters were to quickly put the fire out before it spread. No injuries were reported with the fire. Firefighters from East Montgomery and Saint Bethlehem were assisted by Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency, Montgomery County EMS Medic Unit 40, Montgomery County Sheriffs and Montgomery County Rescue Squad. CEMC also responded to cut power to the house. Dash 10 Media will provide updates if and when they become available.
Clarksville, Tenn: A patient had to be extricated out a Semi truck and then airlifted to Nashville via LifeFlight after the Semi crashed down an embankment into the woods next to Fit Shop 24/7 at the intersection of Highway 149 and Highways 48 and 13. The Semi was coming down the hill on Highway 149 approaching the intersection and continued through the light into the parking lot and down into the woods. Firefighters from Cunningham, Palmyra and Saint Bethlehem were assisted by Montgomery County EMS, Montgomery County EMA and Montgomery County Animal Control, assuming a pet was in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Firefighters had to use a rope system to lift the patient up the embankment to the waiting ambulance. Tennessee Highway Patrol and Montgomery County Sheriffs were investigating the cause of the crash. The Semi Truck had no trailer attached to it. Jones Towing came out to recover the Semi.
