New Times wants to make sure you’re ready to vote on or before Nov. 5. Our goal is to keep you aware of what you need to know and how to inform yourself about the election.

In California, your registration must be postmarked or submitted electronically no later than: October 21st, so register now if you haven't!

The 2nd annual Pet issue is right around the corner and we’re asking for submissions to our Pet Photo Contest!

The entry period for the Pet Photo Contest is from August 29 to September 16, 2024, by 5 p.m.

Entry fee is $5 per photo. Proceeds from entry fees and donations will benefit C.A.R.E.4Paws in San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties.

The annual New Times Music Awards (NTMA) are back in 2024 for their 16th year of celebrating local music!

Get your music ready! Singers, songwriters, musicians, performers, and bands: it’s once again your time to shine! Enter up to 13 songs and 1 album. The dealine to enter music is August 5th at 5pm!

There are six genres: Country/Folk/Americana, Rock/Alternative, Hip-Hop/Rap, R&B/Blues, Open, and Youth. There are also Songwriter and Best Album categories.
