This has been a sad weekend for us here at The Grade, we lost a good one and we would like to extend are love and light to the family, friends and fans of Rick Russell lead singer for Smokin Armadillos. As a boy from Bakersfield this hits me really hard because I have always loved this band and they way they represented my hometown. I can remember seeing them live at local shows back in the early 90’s and meeting the band the first time was a huge highlight for me. Tune in at 2pm today as me and my guest Randy Doty from one my my favorite local shows “What’s Up North County” will be calling in to say a few words in tribute to lead singer Rick Russell.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our long time friend and lead vocalist, Rick Russell. He passed away last night after battling ongoing health issues.

He was our brother, our friend and our front man, and our hearts are broken as he leaves us much too soon. He brought so much joy to those that knew him and to those that saw and heard him on stage, but he also felt so much joy in being able to sing and perform for so many of you over the past 30 years. We are blessed to have lived so much of our lives with Rick, and though he’s no longer with us, we celebrate the fact that he loved the Lord and that he’s walking right now with Jesus.

We thank you all for your love and support, and ask that you please respect his family’s privacy as they walk through this difficult time.

It's all come down to this Friday evening! After several weeks, multiple rounds, and hundreds of participants, the final five comedians will perform their funniest material in front of a live audience and panel of judges. For more information & tickets, check out clarkcenter.org
