Happy to share a website redesign for our friends at Certified Auto Repair in downtown SLO.

They pride themselves on community, customer service, the personal touch and, of course quality car care. Their old site was generic and cold, with nothing personalized about it.

We think this website better showcases the shop's brand and expresses exactly what you'll get when you drop your car off while still making it easy for customers new and old to request service and ask questions... including kombucha on tap! That's right, kombucha on tap.

Well, do you? If you're not regularly engaging with your clients via email, you're missing out on a huge revenue stream opportunity. And you don't even need a huge list... Here are the analytics from one of our regular client newsletters. Include an offer, and then you're really playing with fire.

Although there are different factors that determine success, here are some tried and true best practices you can follow to increase your open rates:

✉ Improve your subject lines: The number one way to improve your open rates is to enhance your subject line.
✉ Test, test, test: It’s so easy to test elements of your email. Utilize your email service provider’s A/B testing features to try out different approaches.
✉ Optimize for previews: First, most inboxes show preheader text next to or below the subject line. This was originally implemented to let you see what the first line of the email is, helping you decide whether you should open it or not. With many email service providers, you can change the preheader text to influence what the reader sees about your content before they open.

"Life is about finding a cliff worth jumping off."

If you know our founder Dan, you know he loved everything about Anthony Bourdain... Well, "love" might be putting it mildly: Inspired, idolized, mimicked, obsessed over... that's a little more accurate. So when this quote popped up on the trailer for the new movie about him, it struck a chord, needless to say. There's so much more about just the business that went into starting Cliff Jump Media, the business. It was about finding a way to live life, take risks, feel alive, to "look for something feral and wild," to find that cliff.

I'm sure Bourdain's influence somewhere in the back of Dan's psyche has something to do with the creation of Cliff Jump Media, so cheers to that and can't wait to see that movie.
