At MACLA Studio we believe media matters. We strive to create polished, powerful, and authentic media for socially conscious clients, while training and employing Latinx, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women and youth, who have traditionally been underrepresented in the field of media production. We believe that people are empowered when they see their stories reflected in the media and all people should have the

opportunity to tell their unique stories. Through creative workshops, hands-on skill building and mentorship, MACLA Studio will inspire creativity and instill confidence in youth in our community, empowering them with skills to navigate school, career, and life.

Intern spotlight! This month we say goodbye to our super talented intern, Alexia . Fun facts: she loves art history, teaches Brazilian dance and is a social media whiz! We were lucky to collaborate with her as part of the intern program. Alexia’s social media savvy is unparalleled - we learned so much from her - and she was essential to the launching ’s marketing campaign in 2021. Introducing Ruben Escalante! Ruben is the Studio Manager and Mentor at Macla Studio. They’ve been working with media production for over ten years, and they are great at cinematography and editing. Introducing Tricia Creason-Valencia! Tricia is the Head of MACLA Studio. She's worked in the film industry for two decades and has directed and produced both feature and short films, including the Emmy-nominated documentary "Stable Life". You might have spotted her hosting local TV talk shows or public speaking about the intersection of film, feminism and community-based storytelling. Tricia's passion for social justice pairs perfectly with MACLA Studio's mission of mentoring Latinx, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ folks, who deserve the opportunity to tell their own stories!
