2020—the year of the Covid19 quarantine, has made me more disciplined at work in a way to get myself into a routine. And as a part of that routine, I started investing more time towards a skill I needed to improve upon—digital illustration.

For this last letter of the Alphabet, I decided to go with Zaira Wasim, a child artist who started her career with Amir Khan for two of her movies. Her natural flair for acting won her a National Film Award for Best supporting actress for Dhangal - a movie based on a true story of a wrestler and his daughter. She retired after her third movie with Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra. as she believed that her acting career conflicted with her religious beliefs.

I have never seen a movie of hers but got hooked on to her TV series that she got nominated for Best Supporting Actress. If you haven’t already guessed - I’m referring to the Australian actress, Yvonne Strahovski from the Handmaid’s Tale.

And that leaves me with one last post for Z to complete this mini illustration series of A-Z that I set myself up for. Keep a lookout for this last one this week.

I have to be honest. I have not watched a single movie of this Chinese model, singer and actress. I needed a celebrity with a name starting in X and resorted to google. But this entire exercise is a learning curve not just to exercise my illustration skill but to learn about the film industry too. The fact that I’ve never heard of this actress has made me curious to watch her performances.

Willard Carroll Smith - a Rapper, Television and Film actor has quite a few golden globe awarded movies up his sleeve. Men in Black was probably the first movie of his I watched during my 12 th grade. I remember the theatres back in my hometown wasn’t the best but the entertainment this movie provided made me forget the ambience. More popular for his comic roles, he sure can make one cry for movies like the Pursuit of Happyness or Collateral Beauty.

This actor although he started his career in 1996, his turning point was in the year 2012 where he had 3 back to back successes and each in different genres -of which Pizza was his claim to fame. His willingness to explore, play any character and also take up any role however big or small is commendable. The most recent movie of his that comes to mind is Super Deluxe (Netflix) where he plays a transgender role. A pretty out there movie for a South Indian film.

Been on a short break and enjoying the little getaway in the wilderness for sometime and have lost track of time.

Coming back to my posts, honestly I have not watched that many movies of her’s but seen Kill Bill and the Truth about Cats and Dogs. By now you all must have guessed I am on a mission to finish my A-Z of celebrities in the hope of learning to improve my skill at digital illustrations.

I don’t know where to begin with about this brilliant actor. I have so many favorite movies that I’ve liked of his. The last movie I saw recently was The Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. A really well made movie based on Fred Rogers.

Some of my school and college days were spent hanging out with friends and watching movies of hers like Speed, Practical Magic, Miss Congeniality and 28 days. I’m yet to watch Blind Side which she won the best actress award. I didn’t much care for BirdBox although it did well when it came out on Netflix.
