Let’s Prance!

03/13/2023

The data is hard to stomach. One in three women will experience violence over the course of her life.* That statistic isn’t just shameful, it’s unacceptable. But violence is only one of the many factors that threaten women’s safety, severely impacting their health, economic security, civic engagement and overall well-being.

That’s why it’s imperative that we talk about investing in the safety, security and health of girls, women and nonbinary people.
And we plan to do exactly that at the Women’s Policy Summit with a powerhouse panel that includes Police Chiefs, District Attorneys and Sheriffs who are on the frontlines of safety. “Power Panel: Safety Doesn’t Happen by Accident. It’s Planned. So, Let’s Plan It! Centering the Health and Safety of Women, Girls and Nonbinary People in Our Society.”

Register for the Summit at sfwomenspolicysummit.com.

Caring for and centering the safety of women, girls and nonbinary people is a revolutionary act, even here in progressive California. Now - and at the Women’s Policy Summit - we want to hear from you:

What are some of the best practices and legislative policies we need to pass (or enforce!) to create radically safe communities for half the world’s population?

Drop your thoughts in the comments.

(*Data from NCADV. https://ncadv.org/STATISTICS NCADV envisions a national culture in which we are all safe, empowered and free from domestic violence.)
