With a signature brand of aggressive intent, Dulce performs a sound all her own... an energetic soundscape, including audible hints of bass house, tech house, melodic techno, organic house, world beats, downtempo, and IDM. DV considers any single performance a personal success if she can make a deeply positive impact on at least one person's experience. Since her debut DJ set at Google headquarters in 2004, you might have already experienced her audio collage of eclectic tracks at underground warehouse venues or major nightclubs such as Ruby Skye, The End-Up, 1015, Public Works, Supper Club, Mighty, Mezzanine, Monarch, Kelly's Mission Rock, DNA Lounge, Temple, Club 6, Paradise Lounge, 550 Barneveld, Shine, Anu, Whisper, etc. In recent past, Dulce was named WINNER of SF Weekly: City of Spin 2009 (Annual DJ Competition) and her performance at Burning Man earned a prestigious mention in international publication 'DJ Mag' within the 2008 issue featuring Top 100. Dulce Vita booked nearly 100 performances as a DJ in 2009. Based on witnessed performance using two decks and a mixer, she has been humbled to receive personal accolades direct from personal heroes like Micky Finn, DJ Dan, Elite Force, Meat Katie, Gabriel & Dresden, Soul of Man, Slyde, and Reid Speed. DV has been featured as DJ support for other epic greats such as: The Crystal Method, Bassnectar, Stanton Warriors, Uberzone, Dieselboy, Wolfgang Gartner, Far Too Loud, Hyper, Orbital, Rabbit in the Moon, Dubtribe Sound System, Lee Coombs, Dylan Rhymes, Aquasky, Rennie Pilgrim, Fort Knox Five, The Rogue Element, DJ Rap, Bass Kleph, Nick Thayer, Gabriel & Dresden, Cheb i Sabbah, Opiuo, R/D, David Starfire, Vibesquad, Sub Swara, An-ten-nae, Random Rab, Ana Sia, Beats Antique, Dov, Mimosa, Marty Party, Lorn, Eprom, ill-Esha, Eskmo, Radiohiro, Love and Light, Ozomatli - as well as a countless number of talented local jocks. Within 8 weeks in 2012, she performed alongside personal heroes like Carl Cox, Aphrodite, Krafty Kuts, A-Skills, Freq Nasty, and Christopher Lawrence. Over the years, Dulce has held down numerous DJ residencies based in San Francisco. In 2006, she was proud to be selected as the first female to be affiliated with 'OPULENT TEMPLE' (the infamous large-scale sound camp at Burning Man featuring global talent on over 250,000 watts). In 2009, she was invited to wobble out with 'CALIFORNIA DUBSTEP REPUBLIC', a collective of performers who provided the first ever Dubstep float in San Francisco's equivalent of a large scale EDM festival like Love Parade. That year also debuted her solo event production alias, under the apt pseudonym: 'DVANT GARDE'. DV created a new breed of event (known as 'Womper Womb') showcasing dubstep, glitch, and breaks with all female DJ talent from Burning Man. In 2010, she gained a new monthly residency with 'BELOW ZERO', featuring downtempo, chillout, trip-hop, and IDM. In 2013, Dulce was invited as a resident DJ along with Chebb i Sabbah, DJ Sep, DJ Amar for an ethnic beat weekly event 'UNDERGROUND NOMADS', specializing in world bass music and belly dance performance. At current Dulce is also a monthly resident DJ at The Legendary EndUP for 'EDMSF'. Dulce has also provided A&R representation in past at Winter Music Conference in Miami for two uprising labels, Mizumo Music (tech, filtered disco, and electro house) and Funky Cactus Recordings (big beat and nu skool breaks). Along the way, Dulce has been educated at institutions like UCLA, Santa Clara University, Oxford University, and Mills College - holding an undergraduate degree in Philosophy (2002) and a Masters degree in Business Administration (2008). Her actual birth name is Dulce Vita.
