The recent wildfires in Los Angeles County have caused immense loss and devastation. Although Sequential’s global headquarters are based in San Francisco, the tragedy has still struck close to home. Our Focusrite Group colleagues in El Segundo, good friends with whom we collaborate daily, are now coping with the aftermath of one of the worst natural disasters in US history. We’re all too aware that Los Angeles is not just a workplace—it’s a home where many of us have grown up, created, and drawn inspiration. We are heartbroken for our city and everyone affected.

To the artists, musicians, and creators who have lost so much: we see you, and we’re here to help. Music and audio are more than careers or hobbies; they are lifelines for mental health, emotional expression, and connection. We understand the critical role they play in our lives, and we are committed to helping you rebuild so you can continue doing what you love.

If you’ve lost Sequential gear as a result of the fires, we want to hear from you. Please visit the link below and tell us about your journey, the equipment you’ve lost, and how we can support you. The deadline to submit is March 7th – we will be reviewing responses to assess how we can help and will respond as quickly as possible.

While we know natural disasters affect communities around the world year-round, this particular tragedy has deeply impacted the creative community we cherish. The disproportionate number of audio and music professionals affected by these fires has compelled us to act. We believe it’s our responsibility to help our fellow creators get back on their feet.

To everyone in Los Angeles and beyond, know that our hearts are with you as we navigate the aftermath of this disaster together. Let’s rebuild, create, and continue to find strength in music.

Congratulations to Kris Bowers and Nicholas Semrad for their Oscar-nominated music in The Wild Robot!

From synth programmer Nicholas Semrad:

“Working on The Wild Robot was extremely gratifying because I got to program with a very unique intention. Every sound was meant to represent and highlight the relationships between technology and the earth, between one’s programming and one’s ability to thrive through chaos. There are moments where the synths are meant to gently uplift an orchestral element, while others aimed to take absolute control. Kris Bowers wrote an absolutely incredible score with an incredible team of folks, and I’m honored to have played a part.”

More on the film score from composer Kris Bowers can be read here:

Kris Bowers is no stranger to using music to build a world. The Oscar-winning composer has worked on films like "Green Book," 'Origin," and "The Color Purple," and on the hit Netflix series "Bridgerton." He's also known for his on-the-spot compositions, illustrated in this conversation with 1A Enter...

"The synths (or synth it copies) I built from scratch in Blender3D only using photos found on the internet, and some measurements from a guy owning one. It's a Prophet-5 Rev1. The music is composed and made by me in Reason Studios."

Have you ever come across a Sequential Circuits Model 810? It’s an incredibly rare memory expansion for the Model 800 sequencer.

We’ve never seen such clear pictures of this unit before! Thanks to Bryan Gordon for sharing his Sequential story with us at the San Francisco Music Expo:

"I crossed paths with these in 2008 while I was studying audio production at Ohlone College in Fremont, CA. Through one of my professors, I was offered a studio internship opportunity at WaveGroup Sound, and in exchange, they offered to help design and install a Pro Tools HD system at Ohlone's studio. I helped solder patch bays and wall panels and we pulled an all-nighter wiring everything up and installing the new system. At the end of the night my professor pulled these out of a box along with an old oscilloscope and asked me if I wanted to take them! I've been able to find more information and even some videos about the Model 800 over the years, but to this day I've only found one brief sentence mentioning the Model 810 in an old magazine ad with the suggested list price of $495."
