Here, I will share with you my favorite vegan food finds and show you how eating vegan is fun, delicious, easy, and accessible. I've been vegan for over 13 years (vegetarian for 19), and it has not slowed my life down or prevented me from enjoying all of life and traveling the world.

Photo recap of my favorite things I ate in Mazatlan, Mexico.

💚 Check out my previous reels to get a full recap of my itinerary and everything I ate as a vegan! 🌱

Featured dishes:
-Breakfast Mollettes made with soyrizo at
-Korean Fried 'Chicken' (KFC) & Ceviche from
-Mushroom Tosata from
-Tofu Poke bowl from Hana Poke
-Spinach Cream pasta from .cocinavegana

Compared to CDMX or other large Mexican cities, it's not the most vegan-friendly. In fact, one of my Uber drivers had never even heard of what a "vegetarian" was, let alone vegan, and he had to look it up in the dictionary. However, there are 2 fully vegan restaurants and options exist at other restaurants.

If you visit, I would recommend staying in the Historical District to be close to the vegan restaurants, or book an all-inclusive resort that is used to catering to different diets.

Happy Friday foodie friends!

Great job getting through this short week so you deserve to reward yourself with good sips & bites on a warm sunny day. 🍷

Nothing special here - just enjoying a refreshing glass of Zweigelt and some pretty tasty olives 🫒 at this cool retro record-store-turned-bar with outdoor seating that I stumbled across. Looks like there is a number of vegan or vegan-modified snacks & small plates.

Also, I got new glasses - what do you think 🤓💗

Have you tried the new Next Level Summer menu from ?? It features 3 adventure-inspired burgers that are sure to please any tastebuds.

I got the opportunity to try them! Here’s what’s featured:

💚 Bali Bliss - an OG classic IYKYK - Tempeh patty with/relish & chipotle ranch, lettuce & tomato. Simple, light, yet still robust in flavor and texture.
💚 Smoky Mountain BBQ Burger - This one is a heavy hitter with a savory Beyond patty, jalapeños, cheese, and onion rings topped with bbq sauce. It’s spicy, saucy, messy, and SO GOOD. 🤤
💚 Chicken Bacon Ranch Burger (Redwood Truffle Burger was out of stock 😭 so we subbed) - Crispy chicken patty, tempeh bacon, Gouda cheese, and ranch. I love their crispy chicken sandwiches and this one hits the spot with the super crispy patty and smoky bacon & cheese

We also had a side of PubCheeze fries (fries drenched in cheese sauce & tempeh bacon) and onion rings.
We each got a milkshake - cookie dough & cookies ‘n cream, made with soy & coconut ice cream! 🍦

We ravenously devoured everything! The burgers are so unique and hearty, and the shakes & sides compliment the meal. Vegan or not, you will leave feeling full & all cravings.

You can enjoy this summer trio the rest of this month at or !

Thank you so much for hosting us. As a long time vegan, I’ve been eating Veggie Grill for many years and love this partnership. 💚🍔🍟😋 We can’t wait to come back again!

(A day late posting)

January 10, 2010 is my Veganversary, the day I went vegan 14 years ago! I wanted to share my story on my vegan journey.

Growing up, I've always been the black sheep in the family. I was the little budding environmental hippie who always wanted to hug trees and save the world. Julia "Butterfly" Hill, who famously lived on top of a redwood tree in 1997 to save it from loggers, and Lisa Simpson, were my earliest role models and inspiration. I became very political at a young age, speaking out against deforestation, in favor of gay marriage, gender equality, and civil rights. I was writing into the local newspaper and getting into political arguments with my teachers as early as 10 years old and getting into a lot of trouble because of it. I was bullied, lonely, without many friends, and I didn't quite understand why.

I also had an awful relationship with food. I was too skinny, malnourished, and hated eating. I was forced to drink supplemental weight gaining shakes, which made me want to throw up.
In March 2004, at the age of 14, I stumbled across a Peta slaughterhouse video. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, it turned my whole world upside down. How can we treat animals this way? How could I call myself an animal lover & activist and eat meat? I couldn't. So less than a week later, I cut out all meat at once and went vegetarian overnight.

My parents were worried that cutting out meat would kill me as I was barely surviving with it. But my determination to save animals and prove them wrong led me to research a healthy veg*n diet - I learned how to cook, I incorporated fruits & vegetables into my diet, and most importantly, I learned to EAT and LOVE food.

I gained 10 pounds in one month and I stopped drinking those shakes. I became HEALTHY.
Not eating animals SAVED MY LIFE and in return I vowed to live the rest of my life saving theirs.

I went to college at UC Santa Cruz, one of the most progressive universities in the world. There was a huge vegan scene and I was surrounded by like minded people. I've never felt so seen and recognized before. I turned vegan in 2010. The transition was so easy and I haven't looked back since.
