📝 BOOK REVIEW 📝
𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝 - 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝
I've had this one sitting on my bookshelf for quite some time, but if it wasn't for my library book club, who knows how long would it take me to finally get to reading it. I mean, with the size of my tbr bookshelf, who can blame me though?
I'm sure most of you have heard about this one already, if not the book, then for sure the movie (I do still need to watch it - apparently it's pretty good). Its a memoir of a woman's journey through a 1000 miles long Pacific Crest Trail, not only in a physical way but also in a way of her finding herself and healing from some life experiences. I was pretty invested in reading about her hike, but somehow the hike and the trail itself got pushed back and Cheryl's coping with her mother's death and coming to terms with the end of her marriage became the central point of the book. I can't say I minded it, but honestly I wanted to read more about the hiking experience cause I found it fascinating. There is a famous trail in Europe called Camino de Santiago, and one of my friends actually went on it. I loved her stories about it and I think it could be an amazing experience in many ways. Part of me would definitely want to give it a try, but here is the thing: this lady right here is definitely not a survivalist - I'm scared of bugs and crawling creatures, I can't sleep in a tent, I need my bathroom and my shower available at any time and please don't make me deal with cold weather cause I'd probably freeze to death in 10 mins.
So tell me, are you a super outdoorsy person that could hike a thousand miles by themselves or you're a little miss fancy pants like me? 😁😂
