My handsome snow boy ❄️

Two years ago, I took my first solo trip with Cliff to see the snow. It was originally planned as a group trip, but looking back, I’m so grateful it ended up being just the two of us. Ever since I got Cliff, I’d dreamed of taking him to see the snow, I just knew he would love it. Only two months after that trip, he was diagnosed with cancer, and I’m incredibly thankful we had that special experience together before he passed. Watching how much he loved the snow and seeing his joy is a memory I’ll cherish forever. ❄️❄️

My face every morning in traffic

Traffic is the ultimate test of patience, a frustrating and soul-sucking experience that seems to never get any better. It drives me crazy that people can’t use a blinker or just understand how EASY it is to merge. I usually can’t stand it so much that I just take our toll roads and pay the $.60 because it’s so much easier. Although now the tolls are getting busy too, soon there won’t be a way to escape it.

Time flies so fast 🥹

In honor of Tuesday marking one year since I started fostering Meeko, here’s a little throwback to the tiny shrimp. That little ear still pops up from time to time 🥹. I can’t believe we’re here a year later, having ended up adopting him just a month after I first brought him home. And to think, I honestly thought I’d only foster him for 2 weeks and then be able to get rid of him! 😂

Helllllo 2025 ✨

I am so excited for what this new year brings! I usually not one for setting goals or resolutions but a lot is changing for me in this new year. And with I wanted to set a couple for myself to really strive for. One of my main goals is to start doing more sports with Meeko. He was starting to really love Doc diving and so I’d love for him to actually get good enough to compete. I also want him to try FastCat and barn hunting, I think he’d be great and most of all he’d have so much fun! Now to find a place that offers these is the tricky part.

The last Monday of 2024 💚

Two more days of 2024, that’s so crazy to me! 2024 was a year filled with LOTS of emotions and memories. Some were really great and some not so much. My favorite was getting this boy, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. He truly saved me and has been my biggest blessing this year. I came into 2024 just moved back to Texas, no friends, no family and no Cliff, which was so hard. I felt so scared and had no idea where I was going. Then this shrimp came into my life, a puppy I didn’t want at all but needed so much. He has brought so much light back into my world, I am forever thankful I decided to keep him. I’m leaving 2024 with amazing friends, family and a full heart with the sweet boy. Going into 2025 there will be lot of unknown but I’m ready for it, excited to tackle what’s next for us. Here’s to 2025 !

Running to the holiday

It’s so crazy that Christmas is in 2 days. I work today and will have the rest of the week off. We have no plans other than to celebrate Christmas and hopefully RELAX. I don’t remember the last time we didn’t have plans so really going to soak up this time that I’m off.

Dirty paws and happy faces 🐾

Meeko gets dirty on pretty much every adventure we go on and I love it. I used to be a big stickler about making sure Cliff stayed clean and never got to dirty. After his passing, I realized they their lives are way to short to care.. Let them have fun, let them get dirty and roll in stuff (to an extent), it’s nothing a little water and soap can’t get off. And if nothing else it makes them happy !

Beware of the Llama—he might just lick you to death! Last Friday, I hosted a Halloween party dressed as Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove. Naturally, I had my Kuzco by my side, and he was a huge hit!

Green is your color 💚

I just love the way green pops against Meeko’s fur. Can we take a second and talk about .dogcollars ! Janée is truly incredible, she hand weaves each collar into something so beautiful. You can just tell the quality of how much time she takes to truly make your dogs collar. I had her surprise me with colors because I just couldn’t decided and I was truly blown away when I received the collar. I think everyone should own a .dogcollars collar truly. Me and my friends 🧸

Meeko absolutely LOVES playing, especially with toys So it was important that we found a great toy brand to with stand this crazy boy. And let me just say we are obsessed with and all the cute toys! Like how cute is this “Line friends” collection!

✨ Introducing Meeko ✨

This sweet boy came into my life on January 7th as a foster! It has been so much fun watching him grow and become a really good dog. So much that on February 13th… he became officially a part of the family! ( this time for real, all paper signed and everything, IYKYK 😅). It has been such a joy to work with this boy and really be able to connect with him during this time. At first I wasn’t too sure if I wanted to keep him, but after giving it some time and slowly making my decision, I knew he was the right dog for me. I kept telling myself that the next dog I wanted, it was gonna be a large dog and that’s all I wanted but I realize that part of me only wanted that because I would feel like I would have a little bit of Cliff back in a way. After having this sweet boy for a while the size started to matter less and less and inevitably the size wouldn’t make me feel like I had Cliff back. This boy has truly been a light, and it has opened my eyes and challenged me in good ways and I’m so excited to continue to watch him grow and see where our journey takes us!

I felt like this sweet boy needed a permanent spot on the feed… he’s just too cute 🥹!

it’s been a long time since I raised a puppy and definitely not a rambunctious puppy. There have been some challenging moments, and there have been some really rewarding moments, but watching him grow and start to understand things has really been so neat! We’ve got potty training down besides, a few accidents here there. We understand sit, down, come and working on stay!
