Hello and welcome to my Keepsake Memory Bear page. My name is Donna and I love to create these one of a kind bears and animals for you to hug and hold. For anyone who knows me they know one of my favorite things to do is knit, crochet, craft and sew. A Patch of Love was born in February 2015 after I had seen a memory bear page out of the UK. After a number of practise bears I finally, after 26 yea
rs of being in a box in the closet, created a bear from a sleep sack my infant son Dale used to wear. Dale passed in 1987 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. A Patch of Love was born in his memory and now his bear holds a special place in our home. For those of you who have lost a loved one you know how difficult it is to part with their clothes and the idea evolved to create these for others. In June 2016 I lost my mother and after crafting 8 bears in her memory for my family, I am even more passionate about creating these for you to have a special bear to hug and hold in memory of your loved one. A Patch of Love Bears are not just to remember loved ones that are no longer with us. They can be made as a keepsake for any occasion , the birth of a new baby, a collection of clothing to remember a child’s first year, a unique gift for Christmas, birthdays, weddings, mothers and father’s day, a child going off to college, and much much more. Each one is created to bring back cherished memories and can be made out of most types of clothing. Other items I make are lions, monkeys, bunny’s, puppy dogs, small blankets and pillows.
