2024 truth #1: You may be sabotaging your success with your marketing, even though you have great intentions.
You have great intentions and a big vision for your business. You take a course, do plenty of research on the best software, and maybe even hire a company to help you.
You decide you want to sell an evergreen online program.
You determine that having a webinar will be the best marketing funnel to sell your program.
You build all the funnels, script out the webinar, build out your members area, record all your videos, create a beautiful webinar, write all the emails, record the webinar, and launch it with the help of paid ads.
It flops! The numbers are horrible.
Worry, doubt, frustration, blame, anger, finger-pointing, etc.
You speak to someone else or see another online leader doing a VSL (short-form video), and you decide that is the route.
Funnel page redesign, new ads, new creatives, new video script, new platform, new emails...maybe even a new team.
You rationalize that this approach and team is better than the old one. You have to justify your old decision, right?
It flops.
Worry, doubt, frustration, blame, anger, finger-pointing, etc. They all return and typically with a greater vengeance!
You again speak to another expert. You see another influencer crushing it with Groups.
Ah, this is what I have been missing, you tell yourself.
You start again, creating the new funnel, building the community, the strategy, the content, and the team. Heck, you may have even purchased a new course or hired a new team.
Again...You rationalize that this approach and team is better than the old one. You have to justify your old decision, right?
Surely, this has to work now.
You get excited and launch it again.
It flops.
Worry, doubt, frustration, blame, anger, finger-pointing, etc.
The same cycle is being repeated over and over again.
You're not fixing ANYTHING...and it is a blindspot you're oblivious to.
It's not the funnel; it's not the strategy, and it's not the design.
It's your messaging. Your message is 'meh instead of Wow. Your offer is not connecting at all with your audience.
The webinar, the VSL, the groups, the ebook, the book, and a sales call funnel ALL work.
But they ONLY work if you have the right message that resonates with your audience.
So this year, instead of committing to jumping from one strategy to the next, commit to KNOWING your audience. Interview them, research them, study them, attend the conferences they attend, and hang out with them.
Then, create an offer and message that THEY want, NOT what you THINK they want.
That should be your sole focus until you have an offer that sticks.
Be blessed.
