Bessell Surf Boards Tim Bessell has been designing and shaping custom surfboards since he was thirteen years old.

Whether for professional surfers gracing the covers of Surfing Magazine or for the casual weekend warrior, he has shaped boards for every kind of surfer. In 1982, after working at Sunset Surfboards and shaping for Lightning Bolt, one of Hawaii's premier surfboard manufacturers, he returned to La Jolla to re-open Bessell Surfboards. His name quickly became known as one of the largest surfboard manu

facturers in Southern California. Today, Tim continues to shape custom boards for surfers all across the world, as well as designing art and surfboard art consisting of famous artwork of individuals such as Andy Warhol and Kenny Scharf. His art can be found across the world, with exhibitions as far as Japan, Europe, and in local museums and galleries in California itself. After having shaped over 46,000 surfboards to date, his boards have appeared across countless magazine covers such as Surfing Magazine, Surfer Magazine, Beach Culture, and more.
