Johnathan Theodore Hale

Johnathan Hale, born in Portland, Oregon, moved to San Diego in 2002 to accept a position with the company LawInfo.com

In 2002, Johnathan formed San Diego Pix (SDPIX) as a side hobby, with the intention of taking photos of people at San Diego night spots and community events, posting the pictures online for sale and donating all proceeds to charity. Since then SDPIX has evolved to include publishing an entertainment and nightlife publication, event production and photo booth services.

In 2009, Johnathan wanted to change the tone and tenor of the dialogue happening within the local LGBT community, and took his company to a new level by gathering a group of community leaders and friends to create San Diego Gay & Le***an News (SDGLN), which quickly became the most read LGBT news source in San Diego. SDGLN's success was immediately evident and the news source, based in Hillcrest, has achieved an international reach that covers issues of local, state, national, worldwide importance. SDGLN has also earned “Outstanding Online Media” at the Nicky Awards every year since its inception.

Johnathan served as Board President of the Hillcrest Business Association, devoted to serving the community in which he does business. During his time on the board, Hale led the effort to raise funds for the Hillcrest Pride Flag Project, and committed to making HBA's special events an even greater experience for the community. Under his leadership, popular Hillcrest events like CityFest, the Pride of Hillcrest Block Party, and Hillcrest Mardi Gras expanded and attracted a wider base of participants.
