"Dear reader, I invite you to listen. I invite you to let these suites move you as they have moved me. Let them tell you a story; let them stir your soul. And know that all of them were inspired by, conceptualized with, and danced to with the purest, boldest love imaginable."
We don’t play to win awards, get great reviews, make money, or for ego. We play because it’s life, breath, the very soul of our existence—it’s our “Heart’s Desire". We play for every human emotion there is, and hope that we touch people. Charles McPherson has been out on the scene for 63 years; played with a lot of GREAT artists that have passed on, and many that are still here, recorded over 70 albums, mentored dozens of young players, like he was mentored, & loved every moment of it. This project has been a “Sweet Synergy” for all of us—working with dancers & choreographers, writing inspired by Biblical Text & programmatically, producing it all through our new label—from beginning to now. It’s been a “Delight" to be part of this process. Charles didn’t write or play one phrase to win an award; but to be recognized is deeply appreciated—two more days to vote.
