I did a thing…

In 2019, I won an Honorable Mention at Outfest Fusion for my short poem “Ultra Feminist” that launched me into my filmmaking endeavors and gave me the initial confidence that I had something worthy to say.

I made it into an indie electro-pop version with the help of beatmaker Augusto Omar Carrillo and the music production help of Rasec Marc.

I think I’ll be using it in the soundtrack or ending credits of my upcoming doc “Into the Mother Land” - but here is the distrokid teaser link before the upcoming Spotify release. 🤓

Cuz I was on this week!

But even though it was a small part in their world, I am so incredibly grateful to just watch how much fun they have on set and be witness to the brilliant takes after takes of comedy greats! Truly humbled and in awe to have shared the stage, even if just for a fleeting moment, with such an incredible cast. Shaking Chuck Lorre’s hand and witnessing the magic unfold in front of a live audience was everything and more. 🌟 Big love and thanks to all involved.

Here’s to not blinking and missing out on your own life’s episodes! 🤣

Y’all, the excitement is real!

🌟🎬 “Turning Red” hits the theaters tomorrow, and I can barely contain my joy! 🐼❤️ If you’re catching the movie, do me a huge favor - snap a pic of my name in the end credits under Special Thanks (on the right next to Gold House). 📸✨ I had the incredible honor of being Rosalie’s acting coach on this magical journey.

I started working with Pixar when they discovered 4 out of 5 of the loop group kids were my students… Each one booked from different agencies - talk about a juggernaut moment!

Feeling incredibly blessed to be a tiny piece of the Pixar puzzle. From guiding bright young stars to sharing thoughts with Oscar-winning directors and producers…, this journey’s been nothing short of a dream.

My mind is legit blown. Tiktok found it within 20 minutes. I’ve been looking for it for YEARS.

I’ve been looking for the episode of Filipino TV where Rufa Mae Quinto played me and Cannes Best Actress Winner Jaclyn Jose played my mom. I put out a call on TikTok for help and they found it within 20 minutes.

Evidently GMA Kapuso Network put it up on their YouTube Channel 5 days ago - I just started the rough edit on my Mother Land Doc. The timing is 🤯.

Part of the reason I’m making the doc is to tell it in my own (and my moms, uncles, and as many of the people who were actually there) words.

Here it is. Just know that there was A LOT of dramatic license taken… and the locations used were NOT accurate 🤣🤣🤣 (the cabin!)… but as an indie filmmaker - I get it.

Hey all!

I’m coming out of my writer/director shell (I spent the past two years working on the film Love & Karma with Oscar Nominee Eric Roberts, Golden Globe nominee Joanna Pacula, and International Star Bai Ling) and now that the film is in the VFX portion of post-production, my schedule is opening up for one on one acting coaching sessions again… but I realize that I should probably reintroduce myself to the community.

Hello! I’m Gio!

- I won 2023 Silver Telly Award for my film, “Legacy”
- Wrote/Directed the feature film “Love & Karma”
- Became a member of the Alliance of Women Directors & the Producers Guild of America
- I’m still the on-call acting coach for Pixar.

As an actor, I worked on Titanic Rises (which played theatrically in South America, was dubbed in several languages for the international market and can currently be seen on Tubi), recurred on Young Sheldon, and just did my first multi-cam show with Bob Hearts Abishola. Oh and I was also nominated Best Supporting Actress alongside Academy Award nominees Amy Irving & Alfre Woodard at one point in time…

so I do know the neurotic mental chatter that actors go through in this crazy-lovely industry.

I’m known for teaching kiddos because I break down the info in a way a six year old can understand, but I teach adults as well. In fact, one of my students first SAG job was a recurring role on “Never Have I Ever” as Geeta.
