Some news about what I have been up to.

Since I retired a few years ago from corporate life I have been busy. Some of my time I spent doing photography. Some time spent doing business coaching/consulting. A fair amount of my time expanding my coaching knowledge into learning more about life coaching.

This led me to working on a business related book. I have quite a bit of it written and ideas for other books documented in my files. In October I decided to put this and most of my photography on the back burner but don’t worry I will be refocusing on them in the future.

In October I began working on creating an online course. It will be named “Small Business Success: A Problem-Solving Blueprint”. I will say it is 90% finished.

One thing I learned during my BBA course work is to do a MVP - Minimum Viable Product - to get your idea to the market, confirm it is wanted, gather feedback, then do an update along with improvements for a full product launch.

I tend to be a perfectionist. That is a problem for us creatives. When do you decide a painting, a photograph, a book … anything is finished or is ready to be marketed?
Soon I will begin recording the sessions. I will then need to create my website and set up my CRM. Then post the recordings to the website. I already have my host and my CRM.

I have formed an LLC - Harness The Chaos LLC - and have a domain - www.harnessthechaos.com . Yep it’s all coming together. At times it feels like it’s taking forever but other times it’s zipping along at break neck speeds.

Where can you keep up to date with what is happening? Right here is one place. Yesterday, I built additional pages on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. That’s right, Instagram. I admit I know little to nothing about Instagram, but I’m going to learn.

While there I also built pages for my photography business. I enjoy taking pictures and creating works of art too much to give it up.

If it’s been a while since we talked, send me an email. It’s the same one I have had for many years, or you can use [email protected].

I hope you’re having a great day!!

I took this pic of a Great Egret (Ardea alba) using a 80D with a 1.4 x extender and a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 Sport lens at a small pond off the balcony of the room of the resort where I was staying.

I did a search for informtion on the Great Egret. I came upon its symbolic meaning "The great egret emanates a message of great compatibility + heaven sense. Its message is that a prosperous time is near or has arrived. You have completed the tasks to do with what was before you. This past path may have had much to do with the karmic work you were set out to do," https://quornesha.com/…/the-great-egret-adrea-alba-symboli…/

Like so many birds with beautiful feathers, their numbers declined in the late 1800's to early 1900's due to Plume hunters. It is estimated their populations were reduced by more than 95 percent. Eventhough they have receovered, they are very vulnerable to loss of wetland habitat.

In May 2020 there was a long line of vehicles waiting for the ferry to Port Aransas, Texas. I was stopped on a bridge when I saw movement to my left. I grabbed my camera and started taking pictures. Wish I had my longer lens but could not reach my camera bag. Some of the pictures turned out well even with the vibrations of the bridge and movements of other people in my Jeep.

"Photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I've found it has little to do with the things you see, and everything to do with the way you see them."

I shot this on Memorial Day (May 25, 2020) at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. A group of vintage planes did a fly over. I wanted the viewers of this pic to feel this could have been shot during / after a battle.

I love shooting pics of birds because they can be very challenging. Things (lighting, back ground, motion, speed, etc) are constantly changing. In this pic there is a flock of brown pelicans (Pelecanus Occidentalis) flying near Corpus Christi Texas. Taken June 15, 2020.
