Blaq Smith Entertainment was founded in 2000 by Edward Smith aka (Blaqsmith). Smith grew up in the music industry learning how to play drums, piano and the organ at a young age. He then went on to be mentored by his godfather, an audio engineer at Dream Works with over 35 years experience. At a young age Smith learned how to run a mixing console, worked with all types of out board gear, engineered
and setup for live shows. Smith attended the University of California Los Angeles and the University of West Virginia earning his Bachelor Degree in Communications. In 1997 Smith signed his first deal with Warner Brother records as a "In-house" Producer/Engineer. In 2004 Smith Produced/Engineered for R&B group N2U (Issues album/Virgin Records), shortly after Smith worked again as an "In-house" Writer/Producer & Engineer for TUG Entertainment; Co-founders Christopher B. which gave him the opportunity to network and work with some of the hottest artist in the film and music industry such as Omarion, Bobby Valentino, Tyrese and many more. In 2006-2008 Smith work as an Independent Audio Engineer and Producer. In 2009 Smith went on the Ice Cube Raw Footage tour as a Engineer working with Ice Cube, Trick Trick, WC, Konflic, The Game, etc. Smith is currently still working with major and local artist, and is always interested in working with new talent.
