SeaWorld and DHL Express announced that they have joined forces to transport a manatee from Texas to Florida via air after successfully being rehabilitated for 8 months at SeaWorld San Antonio.

We love pretty buildings. Georgetown, Texas is 25 miles north of Austin and known to be home to the Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas.

The onion dome of the Old Masonic Lodge Building is a familiar landmark on Georgetown Square in Williamson County. It was built in 1900 for the local San Gabriel Lodge.

The dome was original to the building, but around 1915 it disappeared. No known records exist to explain the loss, but given the era, locals speculate that the copper may have melted down in the apprehension of World War I.

A replica dome was created in 1985 from early photographs and, due to hail damage, was replaced again in January 2021.

The Llano Earth Art Fest (LEAF) is an interactive festival experience. Watch internationally renowned artists create sculpture with natural materials. (Held in March). Llano is located about 70 miles northwest of Austin. The festival itself is held in Grenwelge Park, which is right next to the Llano River bridge and is 1 block from the historic Llano Courthouse.

San Marcos is a city and county seat of Hays County.

Things To Do: The Calaboose African American History Museum is a museum in a former 1873 jail with artifacts & exhibits tracing local African-American history. The LBJ Museum of San Marcos is a compact museum offering exhibits on President Lyndon B. Johnson, with photos & personal items. Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th President of the United States, attended Texas State University (then-called Southwest Texas State Teachers College- SWTSTC). The San Marcos Outlet Malls feature 2 distinct outlet malls- the Premium Outlets and the Tanger Outlets, which feature 225+ luxury and brand name stores and 20 eateries and restaurants. The Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park is home to the only commercially operated dry-formed cave in the U.S. The earthquake-formed show cave is situated on the Balcones Fault. The park also features a 190-foot observation tower, an anti-gravity house and a wildlife petting zoo.

Matagorda, Texas has approximately 58 miles of beach. 23 miles of the beach east of the Colorado River is open to vehicles. The remaining 35 miles of beach is west of the Colorado River and only accessible by boat, kayak, canoe or other watercraft.
