A reminder for our readers, that all 5A sports will divvy up into two playoff brackets this year, D1, and D2. The top four finishers in each district will qualify for the playoffs and then the two teams with the greater enrollments will head to the D1 bracket and the other two teams will head to the D2 bracket. Enrollments for 28-5A schools are:

Congratulations to Ethan Moreno of South San, our RC Audio Sports 28-5A Boys Basketball Player of the Week.

Ethan Moreno scored 52 total points in the Bobcats’ wins over Winn and SW Legacy and averaged a double-double for the week as South San improved to 7-1 in district play.

Also considered: Giovanni Aranda (SWL), Camrin Garza (Jay), Jaiden Guillen (Jay), Jarrius Jackson (Jay), Zachariah Linson (Jay).

Congratulations to Ellie Lee of MacArthur, our RC Audio Sports 28-5A Girls Basketball Player of the Week. This will be the second time this season that Lee has been selected.

Ellie Lee recorded a 15P/14R double-double vs Winn and averaged a double-double for the week as the Brahmas notched Ws vs Harlandale and Winn and improved to 8-2.

Also considered: Jewel Alvarez (SSan), Shyniece Davis (Jay), Mikayla Garcia (Jay), Anaya Whitby (Mac), Zoey Yanez (McHS), and Zion Zarb-Cousin (Mac).
