I was so excited to find this dining set while picking up a dresser set. We had been searching for so long for the perfect table. When my husband and I saw it, we knew this Danish teak mid-century table was it and thankfully the lady was willing to sell it to us! It took two full days of work to bring it back to life!

A friend gave me this piece for free! When you find free or cheap furniture it’s the perfect opportunity to practice painting! Here are the steps I take when working on a piece: 1. Remove any hardware 2. Clean your piece well including underneath and inside. 3. Work on any repairs or dents that need to be filled4. Scuff sand every area that will be painted with a 220 grit5. Wipe away all sanding dust 6. Prime and sand lightly with 220 grit between coats 7. Paint! 8. Topcoat if your paint does not have a built in topcoat
This room was so fun to work on 🌸 I just love all the colors and how happy it made my girls once it was finished! #lovesac #livingspaces #feltright #riflepaperco #clarepaint
This piece was so dirty when I found it, and needed every nook and cranny worked on. I started by removing the old finish by sanding then filled in the imperfections with epoxy putty. I stained with a dark walnut and then went over everything with a glaze. I painted the inside drawers with Wise Owl in the color “Shade Green” and lined the drawers with wallpaper. Then I applied a wipe on poly and furniture salve to the inside and drawers to seal everything. Do you prefer a lighter stain or the new dark look?
I found these two mismatched nightstands for only $20! Nightstands sell so much faster as a set and I couldn’t wait to try and take these two different pieces and make them as similar as possible. I started off by cleaning and removing the old base. I primed with Wise Owl primer and painted with One Hour Enamel in the color “Jupiter.” Everything tied together after adding a base and matching hardware!
I started out this project by sanding and stripping everything down. I really wanted to keep the pretty wood pattern and highlight it with a light stain, but quickly found out it was a faux wood grain and disappeared once I started sanding it. I switched my design plan and picked out this adorable pink to tie in with the cute scallop details on this piece. I added new hardware and a beaded side detail 💕 #pinkfurniture #paintedfurniture #furnitureflip
This was one of my first dressers I ever painted. After having it in my home for over ten years, it was time for an update! #furnitureflip #paintedfurniture
For my paint wash I use 1 part paint and 2 parts water. After everything dries, I apply my “cappuccino” stain then wipe it off right away. You can use any stain color you like! Amazon doesn’t have the exact stain color I used**
The ending is for anyone who thinks I work in silence with kids around 😅 My favorite water based primer gave a perfect base for this gorgeous one hour enamel paint in the color “Charleston Green.” After removing the finish on the top drawer, I stained with “Cappuccino.” The dresser now smells amazing thanks to furniture salve!#furniturepainting #furnitureflip
The great this about Ikea furniture is that you can turn it into almost anything with a little creativity! After prepping the piece by cleaning and sanding I primed and let it dry. I used a 50/50 ration of Fusion paint and Floetrol then quickly applied a coat of paint. I then quickly went over with a whisk broom in a crosshatch pattern. Adding new legs and hardware was the finishing touch! #faixlinen #strie
I was SO excited to find this for free! I had originally planned on doing a lighter stain on this piece when I got it, but after many hours of stripping, scraping, and sanding the wood grain underneath was not very pretty and very splotchy. I did a test for stain and it just wasn’t looking good, so I decided to go a completely different direction with the design. I have always wanted to do a fluted full wrap and these leftover panels from my son’s room makeover ended up being perfect for the project! After many more hours of making a lot of cuts, gluing, nailing, sanding, and painting my vision for the piece finally came to life! I found the perfect hardware and legs to complete the piece ✨ Don’t give up if your original plan doesn’t work, because it gives you the opportunity to be even more creative! Products used: Krud Kutter for cleaning, Wise Owl stain eliminating primer, custom color mix of Wise Owl One Hour Enamel “Dark Forest” and “Jet Black”, Wise Owl Furniture Salve, Wood Veneer Hub Flutto panels. Comment with any questions you have!
I was able to finish up this rock wall just in time for Star Wars day ✨ My kids are so excited to have this in the house! I used 3/4 in plywood cut into three sections, and secured it into studs with construction lags. I got the climbing rocks on sale on Amazon for only $8 🙌#rockwall #kidsroom #starwarsday #endor
I am loving these new Flutto wall panels from @thewoodveneerhubusa! My son wanted an Endor forest room and the green, wood tones, and “Ewok rug” were perfect for the space! I was able to get this whole room finished in about four days because of how simple the wood panels are to install. There are no tedious cuts that need to be made, and everything is measured for you! This cabinet was in need of a new finish! The original one was so worn out which made it very easy to remove. I used my carbide scraper to remove most of it and then hand sanded the rest. I used a paint wash and stain combination to achieve this new look! The backboard was in pretty poor condition, so I updated it with this vintage wallpaper pattern. If you have any questions about the process, let me know in the comments! #refinishedcabinet #glasscabinet #thriftfind #refinishedfurniture #beforeandafter
Sometimes you have an idea for a color and you think it will be amazing, but once you put everything together it doesn’t look good at all 🙈 I had originally planned to paint this piece green, but once I put the red toned drawers in it looked like Christmas so I switched my plans. I started off by cleaning, scuff sanding, and priming with Wise Owl stain eliminating primer. I made sure to sand lightly with a 220 grit between each coat of paint to get a smooth finish. I removed the damaged bottom and replaced it with new legs. Thankfully the drawers were not too damaged so I used Odie’s Oil to bring out the natural wood color 😍Finished it by painting with Wise Owl one hour enamel in the color “Jet Black” and refreshed the drawers with furniture tonic. Tell me what you think of this transformation! Wise Owl products can be found linked in my bio 🖤#furnitureflip #refinishedfurniture #beforeandafter #diy #howtofurnitureflip
I found this danish teak chair by Johannes Andersen for Uldum Møbelfabrik for free! It had large cracks and moldy fabric that needed to be replaced. I secured the cracks with wood glue and added a dowel for extra strength. Then I used a toner to blend the imperfections and sealed the whole thing with a new coat of lacquer. Added new foam and fabric, and now it has a new life in my home! #midcentury #teakfurniture #restoredfurniture #midcenturyliving #midmod
The finishing touch to my girls room makeover is this Luca bunk bed from Living Spaces! It cleared up so much space and makes such a statement with the beautiful blue! The storage drawers underneath are a game changer for keeping the space nice and clean ✨There will be countless hours of reading, giggles, crafts, and fort building in this room 💕 Luca Blue Twin Over Twin Wood Bunk Bed With 3-Drawer Storage Unit#LSpartner #livingspaces #girlsroomdecor
I found this beautiful Victorian era dresser and I knew it had so much potential! The missing hardware and dated orange finish that covered so much of the beautiful wood grain definitely needed to be removed. I started by cleaning and stripping the old finish and sanding everything nook and cranny to make sure I had a nice raw wood surface for my paint wash. I used Fusion mineral paint in the color “Algonquin” for a paint wash and sealed with my favorite topcoat for a light finish. I used Wise Owl furniture salve to freshen up the drawers and highlight those beautiful knapp joints 😍 I just love how the beaded detail looks on the side along with the updated hardware and keyhole covers! 🫶 #thriftfind #furnitureflip #antiquefurniture
I paid $100 for this Broyhill Brasilia, and it was in terrible condition. I absolutely love how the fluted design is on the front as well as the back of the piece, but it was so tedious repairing each slat 😮💨 One day I would love to find the missing top to complete this beauty!
Sometimes the before and after doesn’t have a dramatic difference ✨ This mid-century piece had dents and scratches, so I removed all the old finish, repaired chipped veneer and applied a brand new lacquer finish so it will last for the next fifty years. ✨#midmodmakeovers #midcenturymodern #midcenturyrestoration
I was really hoping this had a beautiful wood grain under all this paint, and I was so excited to start working on it. After I removed the paint I was disappointed to find laminate and particle board with a faux wood grain painted onto it. It took me about two weeks to get the motivation back to finish this. I really do love how it turned out, even if it wasn’t my original idea of a beautiful restored mid-century. #furnitureflip #beforeandafter #paintedfurniture #midcenturymodern
