I originally found these mismatched nightstands for $20 and then a few weeks later I found this dresser for $40 and decided to try and make a set! Removing the old base and building a new one for each piece helped everything tie together. I love this color green with the brass hardware! Tell me what you think, would you try mixing pieces to make a set??
A friend gave me this piece for free! When you find free or cheap furniture itās the perfect opportunity to practice painting! Here are the steps I take when working on a piece: 1. Remove any hardware 2. Clean your piece well including underneath and inside. 3. Work on any repairs or dents that need to be filled4. Scuff sand every area that will be painted with a 220 grit5. Wipe away all sanding dust 6. Prime and sand lightly with 220 grit between coats 7. Paint! 8. Topcoat if your paint does not have a built in topcoat
This room was so fun to work on šø I just love all the colors and how happy it made my girls once it was finished! #lovesac #livingspaces #feltright #riflepaperco #clarepaint
This piece was so dirty when I found it, and needed every nook and cranny worked on. I started by removing the old finish by sanding then filled in the imperfections with epoxy putty. I stained with a dark walnut and then went over everything with a glaze. I painted the inside drawers with Wise Owl in the color āShade Greenā and lined the drawers with wallpaper. Then I applied a wipe on poly and furniture salve to the inside and drawers to seal everything. Do you prefer a lighter stain or the new dark look?
